I believe in Santa... not so much the real person going from house to house.... but... the spirit of Santa... do you not feel differnt at Christmas.. or any time of the year when you take a bit of complete unselfishness and give to someone... a stranger... a loved one... so YES.. I believe in Santa..
as for the Santas helpers.. as my daughter knows the people dressed in the outfits... we know who they are.. but.. the good ones.. are they not infact a santas helper???... do they not spread the Christmas cheer?... do they not put a smile on a childs face?... YES they do!
I sponsered a breakfast with Santa last year... and the man that was Santa.. was absolutely breathtaking.. he looked like santa... and not all fakesh either... he was overly kind.. not even just infront of the children.. his belief in Christmas.. truely shinned to the children.. they all left believing they ate breakfast with Santa, after he read them stories, and said a beautiful prayer!

When I was a kid, I believe that Santa Claus grants ones wishes. But I have learned early on that my parents were the Santas in our lives. There was a time when I waited and there's no santa coming, and my mother kept on insisting that I go to sleep. Anyways, now that I have a nephew and baby cousin, I want them to enjoy christmas the way I did.

LOL, nopes!! As kids, we all knew that Santa was really the neighbors boy dressed up!! I don't have any chimney either. I live in India. And we don't wear socks or stockings here. To answer your last question, I am not going to raise my kids as Christians. Going to teach them the Pagan spirit and the true love of nature. :)
Cheers and happy mylotting

I would like to believe that long ago Santa Claus lived in the North Pole and did exhibited generous and kind deeds as pictured in the stories about him. However, it is very obvious that should he really lived then, he could not have lived that long to stay living till now. And even if another Santa comes after him, I supposed he is a human being and not super hero and therefore it is impossible for him to reach out and give gifts to all the children in the whole world.
So with my child and my grandchildren I never deprived them the story of Santa Claus so that they will know that giving to others is a good act and it brings cheers but... I also never misled them by telling them Santa is the one who would fill their socks with toys. Instead of deceiving my kids I am telling them the truth that I and my hubby are the one purchasing the gifts for them but the provision comes from God. So I am telling them to pray that God bless us continuously so that we can buy gifts for them every Christmas and also provide all we need each day of the year and that they should be good so God will hear their prayers.
More importantly, I have always made it a point to instill in the hearts and minds of my kids that Jesus is the reason for celebrating Christmas...that Jesus Christ the Savior was born on earth to fulfill the greatest mission of saving mankind. I never wanted them to believe that Santa Claus is the hero during Christmas season.

Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus.. I would give my child the idea of a Santa Claus. I would love for them to experience the excitement that I had as a child I would not deprive them of that pleasure. When I was coming up that was about the only time I got some of things that I wanted and needed. Even the grinch have a heart at Christmas time.

Actually no I was told straight off that Santa Clause (and the tooth fairy) were actually non existent. I also remember arguing with some kids at school about it too. Luckily though, I still have gifts :) But being non religious and such, it isn't a big deal at all. So no, no chimneys or stockings or leaving cookies out for him, unfortunately.
