When a virus has managed to infect a computer, installing an anti virus to clean it up may not work. This is because there are viruses which can make themselves hidden or white listed during the installation process. As a result when we do a full scan they are not detected. Usually I chose one of the options below.
1) Use another PC or hard disk to do the cleaning up. If using another PC with the same operating system and a good anti virus program, then you have to dismantle the hard disk of you PC, set it to 'slave', and make it part of the second PC's system. Do a full scan. Alternatively take the hard disk of the second PC and insert it into your PC. It should remain as 'master'.
2) Second alternative is to do a full format and reinstall everything.

you alao can backup you important files to a move harddriver, then format the hard disk of you computer and install a new system and relatively tools. At last, you should do a mirror system with GHOST or some other tools. If you have the mirror system, next time you can restore in time.

Many times, unfortunately, it's completely impossible to clean your machine of infected viruses. One story goes that Bill Gates found one of his close friends PCs was infected with over 100 viruses, but even his best engineers couldn't clean it without wiping the drive. The best free anti virus software, though, is Avira Antivir. It will go a long way toward making your computer clean. I can recommend it because it has done the best in both professional tests and my own informal trials with an infected machine, despite being run AFTER AVG and a couple other programs that people swear by.

hi friend
if your computer has greatly affected the you have to proceed as below :
first you will have to download a lattest antivirus or the antivrus you are using just update its and use only latters version of the antivirus
scan your whole computer , it may take time so better way start scan your whole computer of one night
and most specially your drive in which you OS has installed that must be free from virus
and inspite of that yours system is not working ok then the final way is to formatting specially your Drive in which you have installed the Operating System...
after formatting at very first you have to again repeat the first step
if your antivirus is not able to detect the virus then according to me the best and availabe on the net Antivirus is :
-Kasperkey Internet Security
-Avg Antivirus
you can use one of the above antivirus which are using currently successfully...
Happy Mylotting :-)
