Suicide is a problem we all need to face. Some may not want too, but we have to. Much like the recent events involving MySpace and a 19-year-old boy from Florida who committed suicide in front of so many people, who just sat there instead of calling 911.

I remember that story, and the one involving the teenager girl who was set up by an adult on Myspace pretending to be a kid! It is just sad that we live in this type of world where people are so wanting entertainment that they would not stand up and do what is right. Both make me sick to my stomach to know there are people out there like that.

I think it is sad that no one called 911, hopefully some people at least tried to talk him out of it. That is certainly not good especially for other teenagers to see something like that could encourage other kids to do the same thing. Unfortunately they can't monitor things like that but someone should have called 911 and reported it. That is a true shame.

It's a shocking news to me. I didn't read about such news, because I am reading limited edition of online news from a website, sponsored by the local newspaper. Besides, I didn't do it consistently, so it's possible that I missed it even if the news are displayed 1 or 2 week ago. I couldn't imagine there are people who wanted to do this. I feel sad about it, because the youth and the teenagers are lost and fail to appreciate the meaning of life.

oh i never heard about that. why would they not care? did they maybe not know where he was? i often wonder why myspace always have so much crime linked with it and never facebook? i just dont like how hard it is to meneuver around facebook. i have heard of a woman that helped another one on there by calling 911 when her ex was holding her hostage and was going to kill her. they dont tell you about any good stuff tho do they?

hi dodo,
Myspace, facebook, or anyother social networking site you can never be careful enough. There are all kind of person who are there and some would try to steal from you and some would just make you target of their fantasies and would play with your heart if you are not careful enough. And there are believe me more than one person who has tired to commit sucide being victim of love on network. So i think it is always best to exercise caution on net.

I don't know anything about that story but I could not sit by and watch or even wonder if this person was for real or if it was fake. Maybe know one knew who to call. Do you call the police? I guess thats where I would start. I would hope the people who watched this boy actually thought it was a show cause that is really messed up.

I was wondering, did they know where that boy lived so that they could have alerted the police in his town? Also how would they know where he was? I do think that they could have done something. I am sure that they could have described what was out the window, if they could have seen it, plus any background noise to pinpoint the exact location. I am sure there were some but I think the police would have had a hard time locating him before it was too late.
As for the others, who did nothing but egged him on, they should be ashamed of themselves.

The thing that really gets me about this story is the fact that so many people sat and watched this boy as he committed this act against himself and no one did anything. Is stead they sat there and egged him on as he was obviously distressed and was going to do something.
