Trip to Cuba or Mexico?????

I want to go to Cuba. I've already been to Mexico a dozen times. The resort towns in Mexico have a very well developed tourist infrastructure.They are thrilled if you try to speak Spanish, even if it's only please and thank you plus a few other words.

I have been to Mexico and I like it very much. However I always want to see new places that I haven't been to before so I would choose Cuba. Visiting Havana would be an interesting experience, the old towns would be fascinating and the palm fringed beaches would be glorious. It would be rougher traveling than Mexico I imagine but as much fun. I think it would be an economical trip.

If I had my druthers, for a new experience I would opt for Cuba! BUT, can I suggest other options, that are VERY INEXPENSIVE! Costa Rica or Nicaraugua! I live on a small Island in the Gulf Islands...we have a population of about 1000, and I would venture to say that at least 40% of our Island has been there! They love it...beauty, beaches, climate, price & value! My soon to be daughter in law was there for 6 weeks, her Mother for 2 of those weeks! My brother & his wife made Costa Rica their home base, and travelled from there for 5 months! My son's classmate, Tyson has bought there and is in real estate there! Now his whole family own there! Next person IS ME! There is a lot of Canadians that now go there! If at all interested let me know, and I will get you some contacts!
