Are you in favor of monkeys to serve as waiters?

I saw that news today and yesterday that monkeys were used to serve as waiters in Tokyo? Having known that AIDS originated from monkeys, would you be in favor of having waiters be replaced with monkeys? Sounds awkward but economic -wise ;-) What do you think?

I agree about the hygene issue. Plus it would take jobs away from humans and anything that takes a job away from a human & is less efficient I dislike.

I don't know that depending on the monkey that one would be able to understand their "humor" if they did something like liked your food or something infront of you.
Monkey's can smile but they don't speak in a language we can always understand beyond sign language KWIM? But I'd imagine their breath would leave something to be desired as well *LOL*

Taking away human jobs is the scariest thing that would probably happen. Nevertheless, humans would still be better to serve because they know how to smile at you and monkeys don't.;-)

I don't think it would be cruel unless they were trained in an ill manner. There are alot of trained monkeys in circus & movie industries though they aren't as prevelant as they were years ago.

Yes, it sounds cruel hopefully not all restaurants will do that.

Of course not! Beside the hygiene issue about serving food. I think this might be a form of exploitation. Monkeys won't ask for more salary or leaves that's why they hire them in the first place. I do hope that the restaurant you mentioned here would stop employing animals.

Yes, a little bit weird but one restaurant is doing it. Maybe it is just some kind of experiment with the current economic problems the world is experiencing.

I think they were trained to do such things. They seemed very obedient.

I never heared this news. It is really a different news, but how a monkey can do this. Really amazing. I think AIDS will be spreaded from blood. Say, a person is having AIDS, he should not do blood donation and he should not have body relationship with anybody. Other than these 2, everything is fine. This is applicable to monkey also. Doctor's advice needed to do before implementing this.
