In wake of recent Mumbai attack, England team wants to postpone the tour and go back. It is really a matter of concern. But in any way, can this be an excuse as they are now 5-0 down? Or just security concern?

actually they lost the series already and no matter even they win the remaining matches. but leave the cricket here. think about the country. its so cruel, what happened in mumbai. nearly 20 foriegners were also killed. 900+ injured. terrorists stayed in all popular hotels like taj, so on.. Recently we had attack on bangalore, ahmedabad, so on.. and now once again in mumbai, but this is big attack. This can happen again anywhere in India, if the India's spy agents are careless are not aware. I never see those terrorist as my enemies or bad guys. i always look them as human Psy cho's . every terrorist have a bad story in their back. Persons who have atleast one person to care them, will never go in a wrong way, from my point of view!

this is obviously a security concern. and i am sure they are not running back. they are ready to face india in the test, but having so many attacks in india creates a fear in them. dont synchronise a match with their security... wonder what you would do in this situation...

I cannot believe that any one would think that England are backing out of the tour just because they are 5-0 down- of course it is due to security concerns!! The gunmen were running around looking specifically for people with UK or US passports! It looks more than likely as well that the test series is going to be cancelled as well. The Champions League T-20 competition has already been postponed by the authorities. Cricket has to come second to security concerns- there is no way I would be willing to risk my life just for a game which is in essence what the players would be doing if they stayed.

hi subha.. i think they are genuinely worried about their safety, i honestly dont think that they are 'running away because they're losing' a match.. ... that would not be 'gentlemen-like'... (quite funny come to think of it)..

It may be due to security concern because they have already lost the series and there is no need for them fear as they have nothing to lose beyond this in this series. Hope that you r also much interested in cricket as like me

No. No. and No. It will be absolutely wrong to attach a looser-psyche-label with the decision made by the England Cricket Team! The terrorist attack, which caused them to go back home, is really unprecedented; and who knows what will be their next target spot? There is no point putting your life under risk. And not only England team but the situation is really alarming for Indian Cricketers as well. As such, at the first instance India need to take up a micro-level security audit for identifying and eradicating the wide spread terrorist network in the country.

Hi subha we could have known for sure if it would be the other way round. If England were leading 5-0. We don't want that though. But I think, we all fear our lives. After a point everything seems futile and we ensure our safety first. What happened in MUmbai is heinous and scary. Being outsiders, they are mighty scared and rightly so! When big hotels are being targeted inspite of tough vigilance, can you tell me what security they have!?

I bet it could be a little bit of both things. You can never be too sure these days.

Whatever has happened is very terrifying and sad. England or any other country would have wanted to do the same under the circumstances. It was probably a wise decision. Safety first.

hi subha, its really matter of concern not only for cricket but in all other field as business, hotels etc.in my view its a politacally correct decision to show their concern.they really dont want to hurt BCCI in monetary matter because bcci is a sort of super power like america in cricket arena

Its not good to interogate in that lines. it is a real security concern. the issue is so high and it is seen that the militants seem to target foreigners. in this case it is better they plan such things for their good. i feel bad that the incident has occurred. now the chances of conducting the champions trophy is also hanging in the air.

Let them go, we need to look only whether the players return to their country or not, rather keeping them in India, if something happens to their soul, what indian government will do??? think in that way...... Any way we got the cup right???? we can feel happy about it......

I think England could have easily switched the rest of the matches to Southindia like Kochi, Chennai, etc. I think one of the reason might be they have lost 5-0 and does not want to lose 7-0. I think Indian should play some charity matches and raise funds for the victims of Mumbai and support them.

No it is not an excuse. These types of humiliating defeat is not a new thing to them . They were humiliated by Australia and West Indies many times in the past. So this is really because of terror.

I don't think it can be an excuse. Because, if the attack hasn't taken place in India recently, England would have continued to play the rest of the matches. They would had no other choice except to play. Also I don't think any international side would like to continue playing in a country after a series bomb blast or attack. I think England would have boycotted the series in the same way, even if they would have won the series.

Comeon, already men in blue have sweeped the series just like that. But then I don't feel their this action is for escapism. They shud be really worried since situtations are not that good. A lot of foreign people are killed already. Terrorists are doing all such things to ruin all the aspects. Tourism will also be affected. I personally feel it's a matter of security concern. After all they also have a family and have their set of responsibilities. Cheers
