What would you sell first

If you were in a bind and you had to sell something from your house what would you sell first, second and third? Please don't say your husband/wife, this is for real. I have a swamp cooler that cools down a house. You just add water inside of it and turn it on. We now have window air conditioning and I don't need the cooler. The second thing would be my fountain. It's big it lighs up and is beautiful but takes up too much room. Third I'd sell my futon couch. It's brand new and just sits downstairs, I couldn't use it due to my back problems.

That's a pretty tough one; my wife and I just bought a condo and I have to admit it's not as furnished or full of things of value, so I really don't know. I guess it'd depend on how much money I needed, but the general list would be: 1.) Our video game systems; my XBox 360 and my wife's Nintendo Wii; I guess we could do without them, although the XBox also doubles as our DVD player right now. 2.) My desktop computer; I spend a lot of money building that thing, but at the same time I'd have to say that it's worth a lot still, so it might fetch the most value if I had to sell something. 3.) My youth baseball card collection; I've collected sports cards since I was a young boy and my collection is probably worth a few hundred bucks, so I'd think that I could get a pretty good value for them.

Oh man, save the cards as they increase in value quickly. Find something else to sell. I forgot I have lots of tools in my garage that I don't use so I'd keep my model car collection and sell the tools in place of those. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

If you're serious about selling your collection, contact my friend at thecardcenter@yahoo.com . He's a good guy and has been doing cards for about, 20 years. He can at least tell you what they're worth and possibly find a buyer for you. We went to high-school together, then I rented a room from his mother and we used to watch ESPN and I'd see a cute player and he'd tell me all the stats and give me a card of the guy. All sports, it was crazy. He sold game cards for a while too (Pokemon and Magic The Gathering). He hated Pokemon, but it was profitable and he knew about all those cards too. I'm telling you, cards is what this guy does. As far as I know, I was his only roommate ever, so just tell him his old rommate referred you. LOL!!! Happy Thanksgiving and... Happy MyLotting!

The very first thing I'd sell is the ATV my husband bought me for Christmas last year. When I saw him bring that thing home, I couldn't believe it! I had mentioned that I wanted a rider mower since about 2/3 of our 3 acres is grassy. There's NO WAY I'd consider mowing that grass with a push-mower, even if it was one of those that "walked" itself! Nope! There's a bit of a difference between a rider mower and an ATV! I'm not the adventurous kind anymore. I think he bought it for himself, actually. He does that... he'll buy something HE wants and tell me it's for me, knowing full well I won't touch it! Anyway, that's the first to go. The second would be the robo-mower I bought HIM for Christmas last year. We used it once. It works, sure, and it's really neat to watch it meandering around by itself, cutting the grass. It's even much quieter than a rider mower. BUT, he still wasn't cutting the grass. He's an indoors kinda guy. I'M the gardener in the family. So, I went out and bought myself a rider mower because that's what I've wanted all along! I ADORE my rider mower! So, the robo-mower would be the second thing to go. Let's see... third... hmmm. Ah! The bulky exercise equipment I inherited when my mother passed away. She had tons of this kind of stuff tucked away in a large closet. Even SHE didn't use it! It's just collecting dust in the basement. I can't use it because it hurts something-or-other of mine when I try (usually my back). Thanks for this interesting discussion! You've got me thinking now... I've gotta get rid of this stuff!

Oh all my responses are so good, it just sucks when you're expected to pick only one but I need to remember we have all had to face the same dilemma. I have to tell you that your response reminded me of my first husband, I had a good laugh when I read this and it felt good to laugh today. Thank You!!! Too funny but true.

I remember being in a bind before and we tried to sell my husband's card collection. A card dealer wouldn't even look at them, that was a few years ago. I'm guessing the value hasn't really changed with the economy the way it is. I would sell my Disney snow globes, my jewerly, anything that I really don't use every day if it meant having money for food or to pay the bills. The swamp cooler would come in handy for the upstairs in my house. We try to keep the ac off as much as possible to save on our electric bill, so we use one of those huge round fans. Only problem it only cools down one room and we have two rooms upstairs. Also instead of just selling items, you could also sell your services, like computers, plumbing, electrical, etc. Not everyone is good at that sort of thing, and would pay for that service. especially if it's better and cheaper than the companies in the phone book. Just ideas.

Thank you for reading the poem my mom wrote and looking at the website that I made for my brother. My brother was just in the right place at the wrong time. There isn't a day goes by that I don't, it just gets easier with time. You take care as well.

We just gout rid of our welding supplies because my husband has arthritis and can no longer weld. I do have a printer that I want to get rid of, and a dishwasher, but the motor is gone, plus there is an accordion, a spinet organ, but the trouble is that I will get getting a better printer, and a piano keyboard, and we do need a new dishwasher. So the only thing that we got rid of and do not need was the welder. The other stuff will be to upgrade to better ones.

I have an older printer but it would cost an extra $40 to get the cable that is compatible to my new computer. It has the old serial port, but I really loved it. I did not have to change ink that often. The one I have now only have enough room for ink for an article. It came with the computer. I guess the computer guy thought I would just use it to take a few photos and write a short note once in a while.

My printer is several years old, its a 3 in 1 HP I just love the thing and does it ever work good. What I appreciate the most is the cartridges are so simple to change, they just snap in.

Right now, I'm trying to sell a celluloid handled carving set and a Paulette Gaudette vanity set, it has hair care, perfume, and so on in a large case, as a last resort, a set of Fostoria, but no one wants to buy any of it right now. I've tried, it was in one of my previous posts about the trouble I'm having making money to pay my bills. So my husband has to sell his cherished rifle. It is so heavy and I think it's cherry stock. It's long, I could never shoot it, but he could. He has others, but this one is a show piece. Not sure if he can sell it. Only necessities are selling in my area. I think he could sell a regular hunting rifle.

I do remember the post you mention. Did you try Ebay? I love vanity sets if it's what I'm thinking you mean, but I don't know how much they are worth and I'm sorry I do not know what a Tostoria is. Thank You.

On ebay, American Clear Sandwich Fostoria was the closest I could find to being what we have.

I found a picture on ebay that is somewhat like the set, but unless you see a clear glass set in person, it doesn't really do it justice.

I would say me, but I don't think anybody would buy me, and if they did I would probably only get a dollar two ninety eight. I do have an old Pot Belly Stove that I would sell. I have some odds and ends of things to sell on ebay. I moved 3 years ago and sold or gave lots of stuff away then.

First I would sell my lazy boy recliner that is in my office as the only one who uses it really is my dog Buster. Then I would sell my model car collection which are very well done in details of the painting etc. Then I'd sell the thousands of books my wife has collected over the years. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I changed my mind about the models. I would sell my tools instead as I dont use them. But my models I would not sell them for less than $50 each as they are great looking and they each took a lot of skilled detailed work to paint them. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

1. DVD-Recorder with 160gb hard disk. 2. Collection of old comic books(about 25 years old) 3. Playstation and gamecube I bought the DVD-recorder but i only used it one time. I still haven't unpacked my collection of comic books, even after 2 years of moving. Playstation and gamecube are hardly used. So those things i can miss.

I think that i could sell my carpets, they are very expensive, but they have sentimental value. Don't make now jokes on me, this is true. It's a gift for my father at his 50 anniversary from my oncle. But,if it was so needed, i would sell them and maybe this can be the exit from the problem.

I have carpet in my house. The carpet was here already when I bought the house, if I had my way I'd get rid of the carpet and have hardwood floors but that costs like crazy to change it.

If we needed the money it would probably be going down the list of our gaming systems. We own a PS2, Wii and a PS3. We sell those off with a collection of our games. Then we might sell of one of our tvs. I don't know. My husband and I are young still, so we don't have a whole lot of nice things.

I'm trying to look around in my house and here comes my list, I sell my personal computer since I have laptop, I sell my T.V. at my bedroom since we had another one in our living room well probably I just sell the things that we have in duplicate and lastly the things that we haven't use in so many years already we just have to open a garage sale since we have so many clothes that we haven't wear it for so many years.
