On Dating

We in the oriental countries are not familiar with what you call Dating. Recently I have learned of it from a writing of one of my American friends. Europe and America have such a thing called Dating. I like to know if in a office a woman is proposed by a man who is her colleague or boss, if she is compelled to oblige him.

if I understand mookhor correctly, he wants to know if a woman is asked by a colleague or her boss for dating, is she compelled to oblige? She may be, under certain circumstances. But what I know about dating---it is limited to my reading stories and novels about Western world---is that young men and women go dating when there is some intimacy between them.Dating is preceded by friendship,goodwill if not love between two people.They enjoy each other's company. In India, in states like West Bengal and parts of Andhra where girls are a bit forward, they go on such dating, though this term 'dating' is not in vogue here.
