How do you cope when you lose your mother?

How do you cope? How long will the pain last? My mother is dying. She is very sick. Her cancer has metastasized into her spine. I am an only child and my Dad was never part of my life. How do you live without your mother by your side? I am afraid that I will lose my memory of her or I will begin to forget after a few years. Will that happen? I do not want to forget her voice, her warmth, her laugh.

im sorry you have only one parent and this one you may loose.this will feel very lonley for you if she is to go.just remember when people go to heaven they are still here for us in spirit.you will never loose her completley just pray every day tell her you love her she will still be ther with you.i dont think you will ever loose her memory and i know she will always be looking down from heaven making sure her child is ok.good luck and god bless you.
