What would you do if your in a relationship for around two years and your boyfriend decides he wants to continue studying; and that means that he has to leave you and go far away. Do you stay in the relationship or do you decide to break up?

I guess it would depend on where I felt the relationship was going before he made the decision to move. If we had decided beforehand that we wanted a future together I would not want to break up - I would probably consider moving with him (provided I could get a job wherever he is planning to study) or if the distance is not too far then I would discuss other options such as spending weekends together for example.

what if he had to leave the island? and would be gone for around 5 years? it is complicated though because having a future together would be ideal.

Is it not possible to move with him? I think that 5 years is a very long time and realistically, it would be hard to maintain a long-distance relationship for that long. If you really feel that you have a future together I think moving with him is the best choice - after all you will do that one day anyway right if you were to spend the rest of your lives together? Ofcourse this does depend on how old you are. You didn't say what your age is?

19..I guess a bit young to be discussing the rest of our lives but we don't really want to break up and would like to stay together. 5 years is however a very long time to be in a long distance relationship, the most I can do is hope for the best. thanks for commeting
