Windows vista is way too complicated for a new user. It keeps on asking for confirmation specially when you try to change system settings. And it requires higher PC specifications since it has a lot of improvement over Windows XP.

Yeah, beside that vista is slow; you must have a good pc specification to get vista run properly. I prefer say with windows XP, services pack 3 is awesome.

for me advantage for windows vista are GUI, internet/network security, and exceeds 2GB or RAM.
but for faster applications I recommend windows xp because the hardwares can easily overcome it's environment. not like vista. too many to process.

I have XP on my desktop & Vista on my laptop. I had heard such horror stories on Vista I didn't think I would like it at all. So far, I like it. I'm not savvy enough to try & do a lot of system changes. With the updates Microsoft has done to XP, I'm having more problems with XP than Vista. I don't care much for Office 2007 though. It doesn't seem to think logical....atleast NOT my logic!!!
