I was watching this TV show and they had this pole question asking people this if your neighbor suddenly lost there home would you let them stay with you? well, honestly I dont have enough room to let anyone stay with me for more then a day or two, unfortunately but I would help them with food and pay for a hotel or direct them to an organization that could help them, how about you would you let your neighbor stay with you if they lost there home and be honest.

I am fairly sure that our neighbors do not know us well enough to come to us for help at that kind of time. We never talk to them, and I'm sure they have family or friends who would be able to help them out. But if they asked, I would hope we can, though I don't think we would.
I don't think I would be comfortable with more people than normal at my house, and it would make everything more complicated. I mean, I would love to help someone out, of course, I just don't think I would be the best person to go to.

It depends on how pretty she is.
Seriously though I would not extend that courtesy to anyone but relatives. I might in a pinch let them stay overnight if their furnace quit and it was -20 degrees outside, I would not want them to freeze, but would do so under protest. I have seen too many people stay too long and then there is bad feelings all around.

I'm a very caring person in fact I have allowed people to stay with me in the past and it always ends with hard feelings like you say, so at this point in my life I could not let anyone stay with me besides I dont have the space to do that, but I would help them with food and blankets also I would direct them to a place where they could get some help.

I am in teh same boat a you but if my neighbor and i were close i would probably figure out some way they could stay. even amat on the floor is better than nothing.as far as helping them financially. I cant even help myself so that would not be an option but i could tell them about the programs they have to assist them.

we have no room to allow anyone to stay with us. i would help with other things like food and clothes and other resources if i could though like you said. i have had family members live with us in the past so i feel like i have already done my good deeds and they can last a lifetime as i have had my niece live here for 4 years, my nephew for a year and my dad for a year.

Hi Apples99,
for me it would be very, very difficult to have strangers in my home...I am older now and have my two daughters with me, but with menopause glaring its head it is very hard for me to keep my clothes on...LOL My daughters don't mind, they are used to their naked Mommy and they warn me when a friend is stopping by...we're ok with it!! (I have been going through menopause for the past 5-6 years, my doc says sometimes it never goes away...Great:-(...Seriously though, I probably would help out as much as I can, a meal, maybe some $$ if I can spare it, but to bring someone into my home is quite a different story...:-( Just can't do it.

Hi there. I'm a very private person and I'm really sceptical about letting a stranger stay with me but I would most likely help them with some food and maybe help with some cash or direct them to a place where they could get some help but I could not let them stay with me.

Hi there apples99
I don't think my neighbours would want to stay with me regardless of how desolut they were LOL . Actually one of my neighbours did have their house reposessed and they went to stay with a grandparent of the kids. In honesty I too would not have the room to put them up. One side of me there are 3 adults and one child and to the other side there are 2 adults, 4 kids, 2 dogs and a cat - sorry no room at the inn here!! LOL

That has to be a definite no. I know if I was in that situation many of them would not do the same for me. It's not that I am inconsiderate. It is the fact that I know to families cannot live under one roof and when you tend to do something nice for people they often take advantage of it. I don't mind helping a friend every once in a while but I will never let anyone live with me. We have made that mistake in the past and will never do so again.

We have taken in quite a few people to in the end being used and so I wouldnt do it except for short term. I dont know as if they would want to stay here thou as we have 3 teens and to toddlers... lol

if only i could have a bigger house, why not?...but for now i have a small house and we are crowded already there and there is no room for them to stay. But of course i will still lend a help like food, clothes or anything they need except for shelter.

Hello
I really dont know my neighbors all that well so no i would not . Maybe if I was close to them I would help them all I could . My house is just really small and I do have a 2nd bedroom but it is very small and kinda used as a storage room .
Having my parents live with us the whole summer was hard enough with room and money ya know , but wit family you do what you have to do .
Peace and love

It would depend on the neighbor. My next door neighbor, probably. I don't really have room either but I'd try to help where I could. My problem with that is that we live in a duplex, so if they lost their place, I'd probably lose mine too.
