All the cities that you have listed are exciting and popular. My favorite cities in Europe are Prague, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Salzburg and Lisbon. I like a beautiful setting like mountains or a city divided by a river. I like to see attractive architecture and scenic views from different vantage points. Capital cities are often huge and I like small cities that I sometimes come across like Brasov and Sighisoara in Romania, Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic and Krakow in Poland. Some famous cities are really expensive like London, Paris and Rome. Often better value and as much enjoyment can be had off the beaten track. Europe has an excellent train system that travelers can enjoy going from city to city on.

I agree, Krakow is amazing. And if you happen to see Schindler's list before or after your visit, you might like it even more as the movie is shot there! Brasov and Sighisoara are nice as well, although not spectacular, but Sibiu is even nicer!

I think Barcelona is a must-see. I haven't seen Madrid, but I was told that Barcelona is a lot nicer and I have to admit, it is a wonderful city. Gaudi's architecture is the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlo, Casa Mila and also the gothic neighbourhood are really amazing!

This past summer I did a three city trip to Europe. We went to London, Paris, and Amsterdam. London was really cool, and I must say there is so much to do there! Paris wasn't as exciting, and the people weren't as nice. But Amsterdam was by far my favorite. Amsterdam is such an open city, and it's much smaller than London or Paris. Also, Amsterdam has real character, and what I mean by that is the cuty is just cooky and strange. For example, because of the foundations of most of the buildings, a lot of the structures are actually noticeably leaning forward. Small details like that make Amsterdam my favorite city by far.

Wow!thanks for this very informative descriptions about those cities you visited. I never know that Amsterdam is equally exciting as other European cities. I did not hear much about Amsterdam but I love Hague because of Tulips, I always love Tulips. So you mean Paris is not really that exciting as some other people would claim?anyway thanks for sharing!

Well, Prague is very nice, especially if you're into history and sightseeing. It's full of amazing old architecture as well, because it was not bombed at all during the Second World War (a result of the Allies giving Czechoslovakia to Hitler without a fight). The food is pretty good although a bit salty and very heavy, and the people are friendly but not exceptionally so I've found. Really the nicest thing is just looking at all the historic sites and buildings.

Each city in Europe has its own characteristic, like Vienna in Austria famous for the music.Golden House and Opera House be known all over the world, i do belive every singer want to be there to show themselves, and there they can find the most professional audiences.Even Vienna is a capital city, but because there are just 1.5 millions people, so it always very quiet, walk across the city all the thing you can feel is peaceful, if there is a chance i want to be there again.
