How is it being homesick?

I am here for a year already, being homesick is terrible,but i should have to control myself and if i feel that way i get online and write emails to them and sometimes i get lucky coz they are onlline too. So i talked to them and have cam to cam so in that way my homesick will gone for the meantime and beginning counting the days coz we are planning to go back home next year, hopefully. Have a good day

I have similar situation with you, and I fill homesick offen. When I miss my family I will phone my younger sister and listen to her to tell what the others do, and I also chat online with my family.

Oh good for you my friend, you seem to have been adjusted w/ the life being away from home by now. I guess its just at the start but later you will eventually learn to adjust and adopt your new environment. I guess we are pretty much the same, am also very new here in the USA and am trying to adjust and adopt the lifestyle here as much as I could. Its nice here tho. Like you did, I too have internet communications w/ my family at home and it helps.

I left my hometown 6 years.At the very biginning I was homesick and called mother nearly everyday.Now I married and have a daughter,a warm family of my own.I'm not so homesick and it is my parents who hope me to return hometown to visit the families.
