Had the wonderful opportunity to talk to my son and his new wife on the phone this evening. Always nice to talk to any of my kids I live a long way from my grown up children so there's not much chance of a family get together for a holiday, so the telephone call is that chance to get together and talk and fill each other in as to what is going on. Phone call was shorter than usual since I was just in Seattle at the beginning of the month
Did you get any good telephone calls today from family or friends?

I tried to avoid the phone yesterday. I hate the holidays for many different reasons. I did however talk to my mom, that was nice. Probably not for her because I was a big cry baby and just complained about junk, but it made me feel better. I always like hearing from her. I only see her a couple times a year. We also live in different states.

Regardless of the reason atleast you had a nice conversation and got to catch up. That's what matters the most.

My son who lives in Seattle called to wish us a happy Thanksgiving. He is like a clock and very dependable. He is what love is all about. I can depend on him to always remember birthdays and holidays and manners. He is the perfect son. He will be here for CHRISTMAS. i LOVE HIM VERY MUCH AS IF i HAD GIVEN BIRTH. HE IS VERY LOYAL . wE ARE VERY CLOSE AND ARE SO MUCH ALIKE. He is everything I had hoped he would be.

Yes, all the things you mentioned had everything to do with it. My sweet son call on his way home from work as he is picking up kids and puts on speaker so we can share each other. It is wonderful. I miss him.

Nope not this week anyways. But I usually talk to my Brother and Sister who both live out of state via email. I did get a very nice email from my brother yesterday wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving. We emailed back and forth a few times. I have not heard from my sister, but I know that her husband's family was coming in to town for a visit, and she was cooking for all of them and picking people up from the airport and everything so she has been really busy. I am sure I will hear from her tomorrow as most of the visitors either left today or are leaving tomorrow morning. I am sure she just has not had time to get on her computer.

She has been nice about calling me, she really does not have to, I am ok with her and she has like four daughters and a son.
She is not alone or feeling lonely like my other aunt, and while I stll miss her I am glad she is resting in peace as she was tired.
I gotta say it some women are my gabby than some men.

Hi fwidman,
I don't live very far from my sister so I do ring her up often and talk to her or go and visit her, it only takes a hour to get to her.

Hi Fwidman, no I didn't get any of those telephone calls, my immediate family is here close and in driving range, so we all get together and visit one another on the holidays, others days we might give each other a phone call to check in for that day. It is good you and your family keep in close contact that way. Short or long conversation they are all important.

Yes, they are all important no matter the length This one calls me, the others rarely ever do. But, they do talk to him from time to time so I get a bit of knowledge about the brothers by talking to him which is good
I used to get together with family on the holidays, but (other than my grown up kids)I am the only one left Good thing I have Shelly, or I'd be alone for the holidays :)

How wonderful the telephone has to be one of the best inventions ever it reaches out across the miles and brings people together,my kids do not live far away and it is easy to see them and I realise how lucky I am.My heart goes out to those parted at important times through distance. At least you can talk and remind each other how important they still are to one another and that even distance cannot stop you talking.

We are miles apart because we want to be. They hate the desert where I live and could not wait to get away from it. They love the Pacific Northwest where they spent part of their childhoods and I hate the depressing weather up there
However, you are right, we can always talk on the phone, and we do that every now and then just so we know all is well with each other

That's really nice to hear. I know its not ideal sometimes, but using the telephone to stay in touch does sometimes makee life a lot easier... I am lucky in that I live close to all immediate family but I still speak to them everyday on the phone. I think its extremely important to stay in touch and maintain that closeness. Take care.
