How do I get rid of cockroaches in a clean house?

They said that to get rid of cockroaches, I must make sure my place is clean. Well, surprise! My place is spotless! but I'm still having roach problems. How do I get rid of them? I know a few tricks on how to eliminate them instantaneously when I meet one, but I would like to get rid of the problem long term. I also know that calling for pest control is an option but I'd rather do this on my own because I don't like strangers in my place.

If your house is "spotless", then analyze the place where these cockroaches live. it may be a place that is hidden or usually, from your surroundings. I have them too, for not I use chalk insect killers and cockroach sticks. It helps too.

I tried the chalk. It doesn't help! I actually saw a small cockroach go right across it SEVERAL TIMES and nothing happened! Is that really how it works? Will it die in another hour or so? I'm beginning to think it's useless!

* Clean out trash cans.ask for your helper to place garbage outside your house instead leaving them in the kitchen. * vacuum every corner of the house especially the dining floor to get the tiny food crumbs. * sweep the floor, wipe with soap and water the cooking area, better yet disinfect it using bleach to remove the stain and smell. * do not leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight.

I use bleach to disinfect my toilet and my kitchen, everything else is neat. I'd love to wash my floor with soap and water but the wood might get damaged.

We have the same problem dear. I don't understand why this smelly dirty creature can still invade my kitchen despite my effort to keep my place sp!k and span! I hate cockroaches. But I understand though that although my place is kept clean the drainage or surrounding or places of my neighbors which are beyond my territory could not be, so they become the breeding places of these unwanted creatures that have wings and of course could go and invade any place they wanna go.

You cannot really avoid that especially if your neighbors do not practice sanitary precautions. Cockroaches can always cross over to your place. You might want to use chalk killer or some insecticide protection but getting rid the cockroaches completely might not be possible.

The place you must check is a place that humid with minimum sunlight. Your place maybe spotless, but sometime they come out from one place that you miss to clean up. Try to search out any empty area again. BR

if i'm going to clean it up myself then i'd rather not pay for a consultation with a professional :)
