Do you worry about your Future?

Many people worry when thinking about their future. Do you think it is worth all the worries? There is no reason for people to worry if they have learned to adjust themselves according to the circumstances of their daily life. We should take advantage of what is possible at present. The ability to shape the course of one's life can only be exercised in the present, not the past or future. Only in the present can one stop or start doing a thing. Whatever castles he builds in the air and whatever dreams he has in his mind will come to naught if he does nothing about it. I used to worry unnecessarily in the past over my family, business, income and possessions and my health. With all these worries I have inherited this silent killer disease, high blood pressure. I am on medication and this hard knock have taught me one good thing that these worries can't change anything and find no peace in mind. Remember, the present is the child of the past and the parent of the future. The time is now and the choice is ours. What about you friends, do you still worry about your future?

Great nad very short on that, Anne. Yes, you don't have to worry about such things like - if there's a mad driver who could pass over me? what i'm gonna do if mom wouldn't give me the money, what should i tell to my girlfriend about that call? Now,this may seem a little stupid, what I've outlined here. But it's not! Try to keep the number of the superficial concerns that you have...It's huge!
I hope this helped! Have a nice day!

i have to say i disagree with you. there is a big difference between planning properly for the future and stressing over the future. you should at least have some type of plan laid out. it doesnt have to be specific but you need to have goals for your life.

I can't deny the fact that what we are doing now is also preparation and a goal for the future. We all live a life filled with purpose and add quality to human existence. We should not waste our human birth by abusing this privilege and committing unwholesome actions which surely lead to misery in the future. We should not let our days pass by like the shadow of a cloud, leaving no trace behind.

I try to live in the present and try to live day by day. I do not worry about furture. I believe - "If there is a river to be crossed and there is a bridge on it, let me reach the bridge first, then I'll think, how to cross the bridge". You see you cannot predict certain things, our apprehensions or our fears may not be real and it may not turn into reality at all in future, therefore, there is no use of worry, what is going to happen in future. Some of the happenings are beyond our control, therefore, thinking about those activities does not serve any purpose. I do plan for the future, which I think is essential but do not worry about tomorrow, let it come, then I'll consider, how to face it.
Very Good Post!!

Many people say that we should not worry. Personally, I find this easier to say than to do. While I don't sit around wondering about what the next day or whatever will bring I do find that I have a tendency to worry. I worry when things go wrong and the results will be more problems in the future.
For instance, I worried when my son-in-law couldn't seem to find a job that he would work regular at. I knew that if he kept changing jobs he would soon run out of people that would hire him. Of course I was right. It happened and now he can't pay his mortgage.
But anyway, back on point. I think a certain amount of worry is necessary because this keeps you focused on the course of action you need to take.

Habitual change of jobs is a disease of a kind and he who is constantly trying to change his condition in life knows no peace of mind. I can't say that freeing ourselves of worries result in more happiness but less of it would relieve us of certain sickness. The more we worry about our future, the more we lose our confidence in our lives and develop selfish desires.

I also very concerned about my future.
I don't know what i want to be in the future, each time i think of myself what will i be , i feel worried. Though i have been thinking what i want to do , i cannot say i can acheive it easily, because great as the competition is today , it is hard for all of us to find a suitable job. I am from a not so rich family, so worries alway haunt my mind. I know that worries cann't change anyting , what you can do is keep moving .

Do not let the worries ruin your present day as the future is so uncertain. Take one day at a time and make your present living a happy and prosperous one. Life must go on and let the future take care of itself but you must work well now to shape up for the future.

Yes, I do, It's very inevitable for a person to worry 'bout his/her future for life is full of uncertainties but I believe that if you let GOD hold it , you have nothing to worry about. I hope that you get well very soon... Godspeed...

Hi Llonorra, great to be back here again. We worry unnecessarily but forgot to think that God has his plan for us. Whatever comes to us is just what God has plan out for us. I have too much problems in the past that it hold no place in worrying. So I let it happen to me and accept whatever happens as fated.

At times i do worry especially after watching news program...the news that they tell people make me worry too much about the future and it is indeed heartbreaking...but yes i have my reasons to worry because my children are too small and i have no job and i still live with my parents and i am not getting any younger...but instead of feeling down i use it to motivate me to strive harder and look for ways to improve our current situation....just like what they always say AS LONG AS YOU STILL BREATHE THERE IS STILL HOPE.

Believe in your faith and pray always, your passage in life will not be too problematic. My mom used to tell me that every child born to this world, God has already set aside provision for that child. I think there is a grain of truth to this saying as my mom have 10 children and she has never worked before and with my dad's small salary my parents were able to send all of us to good schools and we were never under fed.

Oh you're thinking very far ahead. I think it is not impossible to live that age but you will be lonely as all your friends in your age group are gone and you are left a centenarian without company. It is also disadvantage to live long in this planet as loneliness can drive us insane.

I do worry about my future. I worry about my daughers future. I worry an awful lot lately. I try to take things day by day as much as I can, but there is always that thought of what will next week bring me. I can't change the world, and I can't alter time, but I surely can provide a sutiable life for my daughter, and that is what I plan on doing. I care about her happiness and well being more then my own, and no matter how old she gets it will remain that way. I think the future is inevitable, but people are always going to worry and wonder what it will bring. All in all you need to just enjoy life, and try not to worry about the future all to often, because it is there but you don't know what is there until it comes. You can only live in the present, and be the best person you can be.

I do agree with you. I worry about my children's lives. Each day passes and it's the same old thing. I get all into a frenzy about the dumbest stuff. I try to change myself. I want them to think about good things, remember good times, and have fun. That's part of the reason I'm going back to school. This will be my first semester back to college to get a degree, and therefore a better paying job. I want to be able to give my kids some things.. even something as simple as a nice Christmas with all the fixin's. I don't want them to be spoiled, but I want to be able to give them the necessities in life.

i use to worry about my future until i realized that i don't need too. too much worrying will do no good with me. i will just have to pressure myself and i won't be able to enjoy life and time with those people that i love. i learn that i have to live one day at a time and live life as it comes. i would love to have peace within me rather to worry about my tomorrow and the future. i know that God has in stored something for me and i need to work on His promises. I have dreams but i don't pressure myself too much to reach those dreams i know it will come in the right time. nice topic.

It is only human to have these worries but if we think of it carefully, what good does it bring to humankind if we burden ourselves with worries. Life is so short and living life worrying for the future is not worth at all. We may never know what happen to us the next day.

It's a normal thing to worry about your future. It's not a normal to worry to much about it. If you have some exams to do or some test to take, this is another thing. You must set your goal in order to follow it, so future will be just a manifestation of the time wich surrounds your goal
I learned not to concern that much, because things will evolve, somehow. I'm just a part of a gigantic flow. So what should I do? To let the wave drive me away...
Have a nice day!
