Puppy woes

I have a fibe month old lab mix puppy who is driving me crazy. She is always jumping up and trying to bite. She has chew toys and will play with them but she is always trying to bite. Also I noticed today that where she urinates from is very red and looks sore, she is drinking a large amount of water as well but seems fine in herself, eyes are normal and she is very energetic, she is an outside dog so I'm wondering if she has gotten some infection. The vets aren't open until Monday when I will take her but I was wondering if there was anything I could do for the weekend. Jacks

well i had a lab cross female dog myself and trust me they are very sturdy.... the only thing that you can do as of now is let her drink water as much as she wants as it will throw out all the toxic wastes in her body...so it is good for her.... if you have a thermometer then you can check if she has got fever or not and even if you dont have a thermometer than check of her nose is dry and if the insides of her ears are warmer than they are supposed to be, after checkin this check her eyes and gums...if they are pink then she is healthy and if they are a little dull in colour like greyish then she definately is sufferring from some infection or disease.... so you will ahve to get her checked at the earliest...there should be some vets who do house calls in case its an emergency but all i can say is that its very unpredictable with puppies...not to scare you or something... cross breeds are normally very strong and are survivors but in the stage of a puppy i wuold advice you to call the vet if there is any who could do a house call.... in case the ears are warm and the nose is dry that means ur pup isnt feeling well

Unfortually I live in Japan where vets are few and far between. It has only been in the last 10 years or so that having a pet that needed attention has been popular. Most dogs in this country are chained up outside and are not considered part of the family. i would have the dogs inside but my allergies are really bad so they have a large area which is fenced off and keep dry. I'll check her ears tomorrow, her nose was wet today and her gums are really pink. Thanks for the advice. Jacks

Bite her back. If you can't do that just pinch her ear and tell her NO! loudly, she will soon get the message all the best urban

Are you serious, bite a dog, I don't have enough teeth. That use to work with my kids when they were toddlers though! I'll try the ear thing. Jacks

You should take the dog on walks. This will help with the biting. You will also have to set rules and boundaries. Watch the dog whisperer. Walking a dog will help more than you would think.

We have been walking her,a lot. Somedays she is okay and other days she drives me crazy. This is our 2nd dog, the first dog didn't bite as much, different tempprement! Also the two dogs don't get on, fortually the yard is really big so they each have there own run!! Thanks for the tip, so more walks!! Jacks
