There is a report that Marbury refused to play again the other night against The Detroit pistons. I just read about it on espn. They are very short handed at the 2guard spot. With the recent trade of Jamaml Crawford, Cutino Mobley not being cleared to play anytime soon, and Nate Robinson sidelined with a groin injury, it has been reported that Mike Dantoni once again asked Marbury to play. Marbury refused to suit up again. Wgat do you guys think? Should Marbury do his job and suit up since he is still getting paid? I personaly think he's hurting his chances of signing with another team by just sitting on the bench, and if these reports are true it's not a smart move on his part. But maybe he's getting a little revenge on his new coach.
At the start of the season Dantoni said Marbury wasn't in the teams future plans and would be inactive. The problem is that team president Donnie Walsh had no idea that this was the coach plans not to use him. We have all heard the stories about marbury not being a good team player and being on his own planet at times. But I don't understand how you have a guy on the inactive list that isn't injured. They need to stop playing around and either buy out his contract or try to trade him which seems impossible as I don't think any team would want to take on his salary. It's funny because Marbury has been saying all the right things thus far. That he understands the decision of the franchise moving in another direction, and that he's willing to do what it takes the team to win, and he's going continue to practice and be ready to play when called upon. But now that the knicks are short handed, he has been asked to play twice and has refused both times.
As a proffesional athlete getting paid millions, he has a job to do. Wether he's on the inactive list or not, he should do the job he is asked to do. I do understand from his point of it, that he does wanna play, and sure he's said all the right things, but I think we as sports fans know deep down inside that he has been pissed off with not getting any playing time. I think the Knicks have misshandled his situation for too long and it's time for him to be released from the team. All he's doing buy not playing is hurting his chances if he wants to play in the future. Dantoni made a mistake in my opinon by not playing hom from the start, and now he's getting a little pay back for it. I'm kind of on stephs side on this one even though I think he has his head in the clouds most of the time.

this is marbury's way of getting back at the knicks when they went public saying he wasn't part of the team's future. anyway, marbury has lost a step or two and without the playing time, i think he is still rusty and won't be a 100%. anyway, some stars are such brats. marbury has definitely seen his better days go by him. i do hope he starts playing again because he was such a good player. who knows maybe he can still do damage to the opposing team instead of doing damage to his own team. lol!
just my thoughts.

Of course this is marbury's way of getting revenge for getting put on the inactive list. That's why I kind of side with him for sticking it to his coach a little bit. It sucks as a player in his position. Just think about it. He lost a few pounds during the offseason and came into training camp in better shape, just to be told by his coach that he wasn't going to be apart of the teams future plans. And then he gets put on the inactive list after the 1st game. Marbury has kept quiet about the whole thing and has sadi noting negative about his situation. But I think we all knew that sooner or later something bad was bound to happen. I'm pretty sure all of us sports fans out there knew that marbury wanted to be playing and has been upset by the way the coach has treated him. The thing is that that Mike Dantoni and Team pesident Donnie Walsh aren't on the same page. Donnie Walsh already said in an interview that he had no idea that Dantoni didn't have any plans not to play marbury. I think marbury can still play this game. On the other side of it as a proffesional he should be wiilling to suit up and help out his teamates when called upon. He has said all the right things, but does just the opposite when being asked to play because the team is short handed. And I just saw on espn that Quentin Richardson had some very strong words of his dislike for what marbury did buy not playing. This mght be a good move on marbury's part to force the Knicks to either trade him or buy out his contract. And at the same time he might be hurting his chances of being picked up bty another team. But of course someone will give him a contract anyway. He's going to have to be willing to take a paycut now because of his choice not to play when the coach asked him to.

It's just been announced that Marbury has been suspended for 1 game. Hopefully, this is the first step on getting him off the Knicks. He has been a waste of time and money. Of course, he should do his job. He is ridiculously overrated and he isn't worth half the money they paid him. I read what Quentin Richardson said about him. He doesn't even think of him as a teammate. Marbury should of been a leader when this team was shorthanded, but he did the opposite.

I saw what Quentin richardson said earlier this morning at the gym. I think that's the one thing that will ultimately have them seriously look into getting marbury out of there. I'm not in no way implying that what Richardson says goes. But I don't see why they are suspending marbury for 1 game. They are still wasting time with this guy. Buy his contract out or trade him. I'm not the biggest marbury or knick fan, but as a sports fan this team amd the coach are mishandling the situation. They suspend him for a game. How is it gonna be when or if he comes back? Even if he decides to play, are he and Quentin Richardson going to get along? what about the chemistry with the rest of the team? Í think marbury still has soem game left, even though his head is on mars most of the time. Listening to him in his interviews this season, he really sounds like he lives on pluto. The guy is trully in his own world. But what do you expect, we are talking about a guy who purchased a $40 million dollar plane and has the starbury symbol tatooed on the side of his head..lol
