Do you live in an apartment? I do. And I deal with noise above me constantly. I am in a downstairs apartment. These people moved in here 2 months ago. This gal, she has 2 little kids and they constantly run, jump, bang, slam, ect ... I have gone back and forth between her and the office trying to get it stop. But it hasn't yet. The only time I get peace and quiet is when she is gone. It really gets on your nerves when you are trying to watch tv and it is going on. I have a box fan and that muffles it a little. Good luck in getting it to stop. We are in the same boat sounds like!

well i think the rational approach would be to get through your message in a very decent manner.. just say you would appreciate it if they could reduce the volume of their tv or music.. the irrational approach is to give them the hard way..buy yourself some new speakers and blast them off...

Of course always try the reasonable approach, talking nicely. But way too often that does not work. I would try calling at a time when the neighbors are the ones wanting to sleep, be nice but tell them you will continue to disturb their rest as they do yours.

Hi heart
I had a noisy neighbor, he will always play music at abnormal high volume till late night, this is illegal in my city, so i along with others requested him several times, it was of no use, lastly we brought some loud speakers, noisy music cassettes and played them, pointing the speaker at his home..it worked, he could realized his fault..
Thanks for sharing.
Welcome always.
Cheers.

I am in that situation two years ago. At first, I was so kind to them telling them to moderately lower their voice and stop drinking in front of our gate because it is really disturbing us even in the middle of the night. As expected, these kind of people are deaf to what I am really saying. I don't know if they are just used to it or they are just uneducated people doesn't minding if they are disturbing someone. At the end, when I can't anymore tolerate the noise, I prefer to transfer from another place because they are really getting into my nerve and I am afraid I'll have to start a fight with them.

I am fortunate to live in a building and neighbour hood where decent people live and who hardly make any noise. I sympathise with you for having heartless neighbours. Call on them and very nicely explain to them how much trouble they are causing you. If they don`t listen just call the police and lodge a complaint against them.Nobody has any right to be a nuisance to anyone and you are well within your rights to do so.
