Hi everyone!
Cremation is the process of reducing human remains to basic elements in the form of bone fragments through flame, heat, and vaporization. Contrary to popular belief, the cremated remains are not "ashes" in the usual sense, but rather dried bone fragments that have been pulverized in a device called an electric cremated remains processor.
As some of my friends already knew, my mom just died and my family had her remains cremated. We are Roman Catholics and cremation is allowed in our religion. But when our relatives find out about the cremation, they didn't agree with it. I wonder why? I never had the chance to ask them why they don't like it.
We decided to have my mom cremated for the main reason that as her immediate family, we have the authority to bring her ashes anywhere we go and anytime we want to. Besides that its much cheaper than the internment. And if I die, I also would want my body to be cremated.
What about you? What do you prefer, cremation or internment? Is cremation allowed in your religion? Which is more practical to you, cremation or internment? Why do you think some people don't like cremation?

Sometimes i would prefer that my remains be cremated. It is more practical and economical. But thinking about global benefit, i'd rather have everything i left behind donated - before interment, to the living who may need them; burried, to the ecological and biological system that benefits from the decomposition, and finaly as compost to the soil. That's giving little life to mother earth in return.

Well this is a topic that my husband and i discuss alot. I've never actually understood why he's so against cremation. He has a hard time articulating his feelings. I myself want to be cremated. I want my ashes to be split amongst my kids and husband to do what ever feels right for them. I've wanted this for most of my life. There's just no since sitting in the ground for 100's of years nobody will know who i was then and my body be takin up valuable space.

Hi! Well like you ever since I have heard of cremation I have decide already to have my body cremated. I kinda don't like the picture of my body slowly being eaten by worms six feet underground.
Sometimes the lot space for burring body isn't available. The lot is also so expensive nowadays to just a have body being buried.
Have you asked your husband why he doesn't like to be cremated? Been wondering why some people don't like it.
