Holiday Shopping During An Economic Crisis

One of the biggest questions on everyone's mind this year is this: will the failing economy affect how much people spend on Christmas this year? Today is Black Friday, the mother of all shopping days, and people are still flocking to thier local shopping centers to get the best deals. Some even camp out over night. Now one would think that the current status of economy would have people hiding out during this season. This is not the case. Perhaps now more than ever, people are seeking out those special deals at any cost, so that they can afford to give thier families great gifts this year. The lack of wealth can cause people to do crazy things- like shove each other to get the last TMX Elmo ( this is just an example.) Whatever you choose to do this year, just remember to be safe, shop smart, and try to avoid using credit cards, since they are a big source of debt. Happy Shopping!

I'm a commissioned salesperson for an Electronics retailer and we were jam packed today. I thought that the economy would impact our sales today but quite honestly every one of us was extremely busy today. When I left at 1:30 our department was only $20,000 short of goal for the day and the store doesn't close until 10. I had the biggest sales day that I ever had. It will be interesting to see where things end up but I will tell you that big screen televisions were flying out the door. I'm hoping that consumer confidence is back. That's such a key component of the economy. We'll have to wait and see how the number shake out over the weekend.

Wow , I just noticed that someone tagged this post as "I am a loser". I am suprised by some the immaturity here. But I will not let that affect my love for this site!
