Smokers and Vitamins

hello,u know, smoking interfers the absorption of many vitamins,especially vitamin C.Folic acid supplements should be necessary for all smokers.Daily recommended vitamin C allowance is 75mg (women) 95mg(men), smokers need an additional 35mg. I think instead of taking supplements,most smokers should have their diets rich in fresh citrus fruits and leafy vegetables.

I take at least 1000mg of Vitamin C daily. More than that will not do a great deal of harm but can cause diarrhoea symptoms. I'm a smoker (I regret to say) so I'm aware that I need more than usual. I'm also aware that just 'taking the tablets' isn't enough. Fresh fruit and vegetables have many more essential nutrients and antioxidants besides just ascorbic acid!

You know oranges contains a lot of vitamin c,instead of taking some tabs have 1 big glass of orange juice everyday and its enough for u.I was a smoker this is the 7th month without not even a single pufff......

Well i hate smoking and dont understand how people get addicted knowing its harmful. But thats really nice information you shared which can make them better.
