I like old music than the new music. Old music has meaning to the lyrics, melody, and good tunes. Now a days music has nothing like melody, meaning to the lyrics and good tunes. Music is suppose to relax us stress, and melody should help us to sleep.
What do you guys think of this.

I prefer old film music than the recent ones. Yesterday i was watching a program in Youtube about the retro songs from 70's and 80's. It was really good to hear those songs. Just check out airtel super singer 2008 in youtube. This is basically tamil songs (south Indian)

I used to think that way - that old music was better than the new - but I've had an awakening, thanks to my daughter, who is a huge hip-hop fan. There's good and bad in every generation of music, and I find that I like a little bit of most everything, especially if the lyrics are good.

not true.
every era has good music and bad music.
over time you tend to forget the really bad chart "hits" and only remember the good songs.
whearas in the here and now you've not had time to forget the rubbish yet.
lots of todays music has melody, clever and meaningful lyrics and good tunes.
just as in the past there were just as many songs lacking these traits.
and not all music is supposed to help you relax. Most Beethoven is far from relaxing. Prokofievs dance of the knights is stirring and loud and intimidating, and again, not relaxing.
and then, just as now, music was written to suit every human emotion. relaxing music, fierce music, triumphant music, mournful music, angry music. it's all there.
