I do a lot of printing from things I find online. I search for online printables. I run out of ink so quickly too. My main thing i like to print are recipes to try. I print them and put them in a binder where i have my own little cookbook. I wish there was a way to make my ink got farther though. What do you like to print?? Do you have a tip for making ink go farther?

Why do you have to print? You have your computer, you own it, so there's no need to print have a copy just for reference. Why don't you just look into your computer while your cooking, or study it and memorize the ingredients and procedure first before heading to the kitchen room. Printing it will just cost you your time and money. Rather than directly looking at it in the computer. There are also free e-books of recipe's where you can download to your computer. You have your computer, why would you make your life more complicated. If you're going to print all the recipes that you like in the internet. Then I would suggest you go to the bookstore, you'll see a lot of books there about recipes. Just buy them for your self. Easier than printing.

I am assuming you have an inkjet printer,if you do a lot of printin it's advisable that you shift to a laser printer...while the printer itself would be priced higher than a comparable inkjet printer over time cost-per-page a lot cheaper in case of lasers...and if you don't need to print images you can always get a monochrome laser printer at a pretty low price...try googling for advantages of laser over jet printers..

did you try going to the print company's web site and speaking to someone in tech support? I had this problem at first, too but they took me step by step on how to fix the problem. The printer worked fine after that!

If I want to find anything it has to be in my computer. I have separate folders for all I want to read later. This way I can always find all documents. It is hard to search in stock of prints. In fact, I scan all of my documents and needed printouts to my computer to create paperless space.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us. I print things out sometimes too if I need a special recipe that I don't have yet.

Recipes are nice to print out because that way you have them in front of you to use

I don't do much printing at all. I like you also save Recipes but I save them into a folder on my computer entitled Recipes. That way I don't have to waste the printer ink. The only thing I ever print out is maybe directions off maps.com when I am going somewhere unfamiliar. I have heard though that if you use alot of printer ink that the cartridge refills are the way to go.

I print a lot of mailing labels and recipes. Other than that I really don't print much. I am getting really low on black ink right now, so I am going to have to go out and buy a new one soon.

Try printing in dark blue so you can print a few more before you buy ink.

This is cool that after you print them out, you keep all of the Recipes you like in a binder so you can try them all out later as well. That is actually an awesome idea for sure. Most of the things I like to print out, are Tips on things, or Email jokes, etc. as well. I know it can be quite frustrating having to replace Ink a lot, and wish there was a way to make it last longer for sure. I know that at least it is cheaper to find recyle places for Ink though to save on costs, which is something to keep on considering as well.

If you save your recipes on your computer or a small memory stick that you can take with you an use in another computer, you will save a lot of ink.. and after you have tested the recipes, you might print the best ones. Why not try the old fashioned way to hand write the best recipes and collect them in you binder or even place the most frequently used on your refrigerator - with magnets - and have them there until you remember them by heart.. Wish you great cooking experiences!!

I am working on a novel, and am saving the drafts on the computer. My printer is so small that it runs out of ink after two or three pages. And the cartridges are too small for the refills to do any good. As for the recipes, when I see a new one, I have to run to the computer, and remember the ingredients, and run back and forth again. All because of that blasted free printer that came with the computer. So I wish I could get a new one, but since this one is fairly new, I am stuck. I would love to print some recipes and I would like to print the novel drafts, so I can check over them at my leisure, instead of going to the computer all the time. The last recipes and the last draft was when I still used my old printer, but to use it again, I would need a replacement for the serial printer cord to work with my computer.

Snow, I don't print a lot. When I do, I only print the text and not the background stuff. I print in one color rather than many. I only print what I absolutely need.

Laser printer cartridges last a lot longer especially if you are doing black and white. Of course laser printers are probably more expensive, I don't know for sure since I got mine in 1990 and I am on my second cartride. The cartridges may not be more expensive. For ink jet, like you probably have, for some brands you can get refills at Walgreens fairly cheap, they don't do Canon though which is what my color printer is. If you don't have Canon check with Walgreens if you have one convenient for you and see if they do refills for your brand.

This is an interesting one. When computers first became widely used, you heard a lot about this new concept of a "paperless office", where everything would be digitized. Instead what has happened is that computers have made it easier for us to generate more pages of printed material than ever before without even thinking about it. I understand the joys of printing things, although maybe not as much as you do. I do know that there are programs you can download which will make your printing a little lighter but save lots of ink. Also, you can print things in draft mode which depending on your printer might look just fine or terrible, but will use less ink at any rate.

My printer went wrong some 2 years ago... I havent printed anything at home since then. Yes, yes, I admit, I am a bit lazy to repair.. But on the other hand I am a great environmental-friendly guy.. I think people print too much anyway. I have printed a lot before, but then I realised I dont even read the fifth of the printed papers. So it was not a big deal for me not to print.. Have a nice day!

I try to print only in black or grey so I can save ink for more important things to print. Sometimes I copy and paste it then have the fonts smaller so I can save paper and ink altogether. I don't print many colorful pictures except for my small business. so only when I do the marketing I get new cartridges basically.

I don't really print much except when it's report card time. Occasionally I will print some things that I want to have at hand and often I print instructions for things because I don't want to be doing it and have to come back to the computer to see the next step. For most stuff I use the laser printer because it is more economical.

Actually, when we don't have our own computer yet, I love to print those articles concerning about the Long Distance Relationship and about Filipino - Western Relationship stories. But now that we already have, I don't print it anymore. I just read it online now. I want to read those because I can relate to it. As you see, I have a long distance relationship to American man (he is my husband already) so I want to read those things regarding Filipino - Western relationship in order for me to learn how to adjust in our relationship.
