softwares required for college going students????? any suggestion on what kind of softwares are used by college students... as for as my knowledege they widely use a simulation software called matlab. anyother suggestions

It depends on the courses you will be taking. I know a lot of engineering majors use matlab. I study history and all I really need is Microsoft Office (especially powerpoint and word, but excel is sometimes helpful). Also, if you will write a lot of research papers, Endnote is a good piece of software to have. It helps you cite information.

Microsoft Office is good for doing documents, presentations, etc. A cheaper alternative that's just as effective is OpenOffice 3.0.
Other than that, depending on where you go and what classes you have you may have to use Maple (which is another program kinda like Matlab), and well... various things.
If you really want to know go to the college's website and see if you can't find a technology page on there that tells you what software they support and such. That's usually a good start.

ofcorse yes this is the important part in the college student .the student if he belongs to the electronics and communication , student needs matlab pspice student maker and networking softwares for the lan etc and for the each different student deaprtment deponds on its viaries ....thanks happy mylotting!!!!!
