Were they really on a break?

Ross and Rachel. She says they were NOT, he says they were, we all know this. But do you think they were? I do. She clearly said herself " Ross, we need to take a break. " To me, what Ross did was a little... extreme, going out and sleeping with someone that night - but the poor guy is only human (well, a written character, of course), and she said that they were on a break! So, what are you guys and gals opinion on the matter?

yes, I believe that they were on a break, but I don't think that it was right for Ross to go out and sleep with someone else. If he truly loved Rachel as much as he said he did, he wouldn't have been able to go through with it, or at least I couldn't have

I think if you're on a break with someone, then sleeping with someone else clearly sends the message that you don't want to be that person any more. If I truly loved someone and wanted to work on it with them, I wouldn't have the desire to be another person (drunk or not). I could totally see where Rachel was coming from. However, when she called him a cheater in the later episode, thats where I feel it was taken too far. I mean, it was cheating if they were on a break, it was just wrong.

Haha! Both Ross and Rachelle have their own points on this issue for technically speaking, yes they were on a break and therefore were not committed to each other during that time
