Old Garfield or New Garfield

With four live action movies out now, my question is which do you prefer? The new live action/CG movies or the old animated specials? I really prefer the old movies to the new, even though I adore Breckin Meyer and was hoping he'd get some more work off of the Garfield movies.

I actually prefer the comic book sketches and graphic novels over either. I have never watched the live action Garfield movies but heard that they got bad reviews so I didn't bother watching them.
I just found the shorter comic book stories funnier than the cartoon animated version.
