Hello mylotters,
Have you every ask you parent why they gave you that name you have now?
If you are given the chance to choose your own name what would it be and why?
Well, my name is Honey Margarit ..... My parent gave me that name because my mom and dad called each other Honey when they are still sweet heart and until know they get married. They name it to me because they said it is very sweet name. And Margarit is from my mothers name Margarita. Even though it look like a good name for me but still i dont like it for i am not a sweet type of personality. If ever i have the chance to choose my name i would choose Rose for i like that name and it is also my favorite flower.

Yea that would be pretty interesting to change your name. I mean my name is Mike Anderson and that is a really common name in the united states. I asked my parents and they said it just sounded right. Granted it's a common name but i probably wouldn't change it since i've grown up with that name and built credit with that name so why change it now. It's a real tough decision to make too though. I have a son now and when we were deciding to pick a name we looked on the internet but that's about it. We decided on Collin Anderson and i'm glad we picked that because that's a cute name and it goes well. What a decision to make though because that is your name forever, unless of course you do a legal name change.

Oh boy about my there's some history. my family name is from my father (my folks are divored) and being fro the south of our country well it is weird becuase it is written like a ugly music type in my country, a gypsy type which is annoying and stupid (I'm not a racist it's only I hate this type of "music"). My first name is Sorin which is a dacian name which means "sun' so i like it but I had this unluck to be given a second name which i really hae it, many made jokes of it. my grandfather gave it to me and even now my aunt and some of my relatives wonder why did my mom accepted this name. I truly hate it. If I have the chance I would erase it or I would replace it with "Alexandru" (Alexander -translated). My mom told me that she had the intention to give me this name instead of Sorin but she changed her mind and gave this name after her which is Sorina (the female version of my name). So as you can see I can start writing an history book after my name. Be happy that you aren't bugged by idiots making fun of your name. My luck is that i have two...lucky me

My name is a combination of my father's and mother's name and at first, my name is not common but nowadays, it is becoming a common name. I sort of like my name since it has a foreign sound to it but given the chance to choose my name, I'll choose Anneshirley.

My real name is Ma. Rowena (Ma. short for Maria) i don't like my name, sound too old for me and very common lol! i asked my mom why she gave me that name. she said, she didn't know she was carrying a girl in her womb, she planned naming me Eugene, after from the first letter of her name Edna, she was then expecting for a boy. So, she can't think of anything right on that spot when the midwife was asking for my name. She thought of that famous filipina actress back then, so i got my name from that actress. If i have to choose, i'd rather want that name Eugene

Hi! well, you do have a beautiful and unique name, and congratulations, you were able to look for the origin of your name.My name is Angel. That is a very common name, that I don't even need to ask my parents of the meaning of that name. Angel means: a messenger of God, according to Mrs. Mirriam Webster.lol.
Actually my mom decided to gave that name to me because way back when she is still single, she do have a bestfriend named Angel. Then she promised to that bestfriend of her that when she have a child she will name it next to her bestfriends name.
Planning to change it? No, I will not, I am very much contented on my name.

As most of my friends know my real name and I often use it in my posts, my name is 'Deepak', which means - a small earthern lamp, which is lit with the help of oil and cotton, when lit it gives light to surrounding areas. I was the first one born, in the next generation to be born in my joint family, so I was given this name by one of the elders in the family, hoping that I will bring light in the life of others and I do the same. I love my name and would not like to change it.

Hello Margarit,
My name robert was taken by my parents from the Kennedy family. I was born during the terms of the Kennedy and they name me from on of President Kennedy brother. It's a good namen and I don't have a plan changing it. I hope I can live my life a good legacy and so with my name. I think Honey is a good name, but Rose sounds better. I think it is possible to change your name if you have a very good reason. I hope your parents still call each other honey.
Regards.

Hi robert, Yes my parents still called each other honey but they make it short 'ney' instead of honey to have some difference with my name, for when they say the whole word it is me that they are referring. Actually everyone called me honey at home, at work and even to all of my friends. But i use my second name instead of it. thanks for the respond.

Hello, Margarit.
My name is Eduardo, which would be Edward in English. I asked my mother already why she had chosen this name. She said it had no special meaning at all. My father was trying to give me a strange name, which is not hard to see here in Brazil. I would receive an ugly name if my mother hadn't said she would pick Edward. I'm glad by being called Edward. Matches me, I guess. I am the only Edward I know, by the way, which makes me happier. It is not an ugly name, in my opinion, nor a too different name.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Hi purtle,
You should ask why your parent gave you that name for it may have a good story behind it. When i was still young i allready ask my mom why they name it for me. and she answered it Honestly, i guess there is nothing wrong to ask them politely. thanks for the respond.

My momma was reading some book when I was born and there was a cow in the story. I was named after the cow. Yuck. I've often thought about changing my name and just might do it. It's all going to depend on how much it's going to cost. But I'm about halfway thru my life, so maybe I won't.

My Mother named me after a famous movie star and when I was growing up, I hated my name. I never ran into anyone with the same name and I could never find anything that was personalized since my name wasn't that common. I always wished that my name was Terry because I really liked the name. Now that I'm older, I appreciate my name a lot more and consider it an expression of individuality. Interesting that today, there are a lot of twentysomethings with the same name as mine.

My first name is one that my mother liked very much. My middle name is a family name. It is my mother's name and was my godmother's and my great-grandmother's name. When I named my daughter, I chose a family name for her first name, after my maternal grandmother. Her middle name is a name that I like and also sounded nice with her first name.

My name is part of who I am, I wouldn't change it for the world. My name is Kira, some people think it's pretty and cool, but there was a time around my neighborhood when everybody would name their female dogs Kira, they thought it was a cool name for dogs, but even then I didn't care. I love my name...though I would have prefered it was spelled with a y, as in Kyra, but it doesn't matter
