Sometimes I want to beat myself ,I read a discussion and think it is good and even write a comment praising the responses but last minute forget to rate it either postively or best response. And usually what happens after that IS I usaully foget to go back and rate it so I guess there are a lot of good responses to my discussions that I havent rated ,sorry I will do better ,I promise.

As much as possible I rate my responders' responses everytime I can. It is just my way of saying "thank you" for the time that you have spent reading my thesis and sharing your thoughts or opinions regarding my topic. Good responses deserve a recognition and a positive reputation from the originators. I do this with the thinking that I am also receiving the same recognition from the originators of the topics that I have responded to. They do this for me, I'd do the same for my responders. Everybody's happy.

Oh ya! The human element is not always fun. I don't know what happens. I am usually pretty good about doing it each time but, sometimes I just forget.

I usually rate responses as I read them but not always. Sometimes I go back to a discussion when there are a few more responses.
I very often leave comments to a day or so later (because that brings the discussion back into the 'Recent' list, which may gain it a few more responses.
It may often be a week or so before I decide to give a Best Answer. I certainly don't do it straight away because that's not fair on the others who have yet to answer.

Yes I do try to remember to rate the posts. I haven't started any of my own discussions for a long time as it might be weeks or even months between the times I can be here online. But as I respond to other discussions I also read the responses made by other members. Then I will often give someone a positive rating if I think the response merits a positive. I also do the same with the actual discussion itself. I do not think that every response merits a positive but a reasonable amount of them do.
With regard to negative ratings, I do not give them at all but instead leave that to the member wh o started the discussion. If I thought a response was really badm then it should probably be reported to myLot admin for them to make a decison as to whether it was against the rules. It hasn't happened at this time but it could in the future of course.
When I rate a discussion or a response positive, I might not necessarily agree with that point of view either. To get a positive from me the post needs to be well written so that others can understand what is being said.

Post, read and learn. I didn't even know we were supposed to rate the discussion. I must hasve missed that when I was reading about myLot. Was it in the info section I think I remember reaing? I really have no excuse because it's only been about 3 weks since I joined. It isn't like I have been posting for months. I will try to remember to rate the discussion from now on. Sorry......my bad.....

I try to remember to rate. I try to rate as I read. But sometimes I just forget. Or I get so caught up and I just don't remember. It happens to all of us. We are all only human. I will also try to do better. :)
