A marvellous movie depicting the lives of the brave generals of ancient times.It is about a betrayed general whose son and wife is murdered by the prince who was jealous of him.To seek revenge,he comes back as a gladiator. A splendid cinematography has been featured by John Mathieson.The graphic battle scenes added the real colour to the film.Awesome!!A brilliant performance by the actors...neither over-acting nor the less..The ending was marvellous when Maximus floats the way to the door of Heaven and sees his family welcoming him... I thoroughly recommend to those who didn't see this film to view the brave life of a GLADIATOR....

I agree with what you have said, it depicts a life of a gladiator even though they are long gone and the film was adventurous and you could see the slogan of revenge in the eyes of the gladiator.
