I know that with the dryer weather here, we'll be having them more often. I also have heard about several techniques throughout the years and rested that the pinching nose and leaning forwards has worked best... but what about you all? How do you or someone you know stop nosebleeds?

We usually have the person lean their head back and put a cold compress on the back of their neck. Pinching the nose? Not so much. Usually put a tissue in the nostril though.

Don't lean back, it will just worsen the situation. Put ice pack or something cold like a bottle from the fridge. It stops the blood from running. Hence, no more nosebleeding. It's not really advisable to put a tissue in the nostril as it may stick there when the blood has dried up.

Never had a problem with either and a cold cloth usually did the trick.

I use to have nosebleed when I was a kid. Most of the time I just hold my head back. Sit down, calm down my self and cool down my temparature. (using towel with cold water). You're right, because the weather people tends to get nosebleed, don't worry, as long as you drink a lot of water you'll prefent the nosebleed.

My daughter gets nosebleeds from her allergies alot. We just put a cold wet washcloth on here nose and have her hold her head down a little. You are not suppose to hold your head back like they used to think you were suppose to it can make the blood run down your throat.
