When Illustrator and Photoshop are combined, no software can stop them xD. This is a professional tool to design professional logo for company and other. And a littre practice and control of both of them will be excellent for your futurs works. Good luck !

Yes I love Illustrator. The output it provides is awesome and superb, no doubt. But at start it is really difficult to get the most out of it for a newbie. One must do a lot of practice on it to get desirable output. At that point CorelDraw is easier to learn. I use this software for many years and its shortcuts and ease of use is amazing. You can just go for it to design your logo in addition to Illustrator.

Easy to design a logo? I think better start using Microsoft Words. I start my design by using that. Later start to use Microsoft Paint or known as MS Paint. Later I start to use Jasc Photoshop (now known as Corel) then proceed to Adobe Illustrator.
Designer have know how to use Adobe Illustrator because most of the large scale printing required this software. Later I also learn Adobe Photoshop which I switch back to Corel Photoshop X2 which is much better to use and easy.
I hope you have an answer for this. Beside that, you have to have lots of patience and also a creative brain to work a logo. Color combination is very important too...
