I'm looking for feed back from as many people as I can.
Here's the question/senerio:
If you and/or your family were to check into a hotel and they offered an alarm for your room for a deposit, would you get one for extra security?
There are 2 types available. The 1st one is like a door stop. If someone were to open the door the 120db alarm would sound.
The 2nd one hangs on the doorknob and will activate if someone touches the doorknob.
It won't go off if someone just touches the door, just the knob. It's also a 120db alarm.
I run a personal safety company and I'm considering contacting a few hotels with these ideas. That's why I'd like some feedback.
I realize the alarms are loud, but I'd rather be safe.

It would depend on the hotel. If I was in a hotel like Holiday Inn Express where they are usually in good neighborhoods and you feel pretty secure I would not.
But then there was the time when I booked my hotel online, not knowing what I was getting. The hotel seemed a little rough around the edges if you know what I mean. And I had a non-refundable reservation. If someone would have offered it to me at that location, especially since I was traveling by myself, I would have probably rented the alarm if the price was within my budget.
Interesting discussion. Good luck to you with your product! Have a great weekend!

I got to thinking about people who book their hotels through things like priceline etc. You really don't know what you are getting.
When I stay in a hotel, I feel like someone has a master key to all the rooms. Maybe I watch too much CSI (ha,ha).
Anyway, if the hotel doesn't offer extra security, you can always buy the alarms and carry them with you when you travel.
The personal door stop alarm is only $15.00. How's that for peace of mind?
Also great for the elderly, college kids, single women etc.
I'd still like your opinion if you'd use the extra security if it was offered by the hotel.

I wouldn't purchase additional security. One of the main reasons is that we typically choose high end hotels. Normally the thefts that occur in hotels are usually done by staff, mostly because of the setup of hotels. Most people that are traveling have minimal valuable inside the hotel and probally little cash too. Alot of people even leave their jewely at home when traveling. I think the number of hotel "invasions" are minimal. Also I think that the noise level of the alarm would be too much for non-threaten guests. I personally would not want to be in a hotel where some drunken person twisted the wrong door knob and I had to listen to a loud alarm everytime this happened. Just my opinion.

I understand what you're saying about the money and jewelry.
It's the drunk or stranger I want to keep away.
It may not be possessions they are after.
I appreciate your opinion!
