I do my whole tree and house decorated in snowmen. I love the cute little charaters and have hardly ever found one that isn't cute!! I know some people have theme trees. A gentleman I know puts up 8 trees. Each has a theme. His is airplanes on one and on another he has trains. His wife had her vintage ornaments....his kids each have a little one in their rooms decorated with all their ornaments. So do you do a theme or certain color?

My theme is all vintage items this year. I did snowmen last year and loved it. I got a white Christmas tree and shaped it into 3 round sections (a snowman) and put a top hat on it for a tree top. I'm not as crazy about the vintage them this year but it isa nice change. Have a great Holiday!

No I have no theme to mine. We get two new oriments a year now it is down to one. But we have a lot of mismatched ones as we remember when we got them and have a good laugh when we put them all on the tree. It is a very fun time for me and my son and now we have our roommate and his son. We will get it done sometime this coming week from what I have been told. I hope you have a great time doing your tree. Your friend onlydia

why thank you. My tree is up and that is it and if the guys don't get with it there will be a empty tree. I told them be happy it's Christmas time and no they are all we have no jobs we got laid off. No presents. I told them BOO HOO. Feel bad for me. You have a home and people that care. Get over the fact that you won't have a ton of presents. Have a nice day your friend onlydia

My house, both inde and out, are not themed in the least. Other than icicle type lights mostly outdoors on the eaves. My tree has old ornaments my mom made as well as newer ones bought at stores etc. I have never really had a set theme for the Holidays and never will more than likely. I just decorate and light the place up in and out is all.

Wow! 8 trees! That is shocking to me! No, we put up only 1 tree but we don't really have a theme for decorations. I think anything Christmas related is fine for us. Although lately I have been partial to snowmen myself. My 3 year old daughter just loves snowmen so I try to have snowmas stuff all over the place, especially for her.
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

that was the big draw back to having an artificial tree this year, i like putting my own lights on the tree, we usually buy a real tree. but the tree my s/o brought home was not a pre-lit, so i got to use my strands of red lights.

We don't have a tree but our kids do and I love to go see it each year. Our middle daughter, because she and her hubby are firefighters, have everything related to the fire department. It's really interesting. Mini-firetrucks, etc. Most of her tree is decorated in red but she also has a few craft items hanging that I made and gave to her.

Nope my tree is a hodge opdge of things collected for many years now. We have so many different things on our tree and I love it that way because you can see each persons contribution to the tree. Its got personality

i go with red lights, silver garland and mainly red and silver ornaments on our tree. i always had some personal ornaments also, from when my kids were young, i have one for each of the three christmas' we've been together (haven't gotton one for this year yet). and i have my snoopy ornaments, each is dressed from a different culture. my mom gave them to me about 20 years ago.
the rest of the lights around the house are white, garland on bannister, in kitchen etc., and outside. i have my snowman collection throughout my kitchen.

No I don't have a theme tree or anything like that. I have only done a certain color once, blue ornaments and lights. When my first grandchild was born I bought her an ornament for the tree. Now I have 5 grandchildren and have bought an ornament for each of them each year.

I have a lot theme decorations, which I've collected over the years. My favorite was a vintage Victorian theme which had a lot of pink bows and antique looking ornaments. Needless to say over the years, the kids have sort of taken over the tree and these days its a mix of a lot themes, mostly school made ornaments with their pictures which although not much to look at, they are my favorite ones. I think any Christmas tree, no matter the theme is beautiful.

s fall heads toward winter and thoughts turn toward Christmas, of course, the Christmas tree becomes a focus of household decor. An after you have taken the time and spent the money to get the perfect Christmas tree, your next job is to decide what you want to do about your Christmas tree decorations. It might seem obvious, but like any home decorating project, a well-done Christmas tree requires a theme. For example, if you want your Christmas tree to have a Victorian look, then you should consider getting antique-style glass ornaments as your Christmas tree decorations. And since Christmas in contemporary society is largely about kids, if you have children, or even if you don't and you're just a kid at heart, you might enjoy a tree with a children's toy theme. Toy Christmas tree decorations can be a lot of fun to buy, and to display. You'll probably want to start shopping far in advance, so you have time to plan your theme and get the items you really want.
For example, say that you liked to play with Barbie dolls when you were a child -- the Christmas tree decorations that you choose could have a Barbie theme! This might strike you as a bit weird, but weird can be cool, and remember, the Barbie theme is just an example you are limited only by your imagination. Any theme at all can be fun and unique if it fits your personality and lifestyle. If you do go with the Barbie theme, then your color scheme might well be based on the, shall we say, non-traditional color of pink. And if your theme is based on pink, and you do not actually have a tree yet, then why not go all the way, be extra unique and get a white tree, or that old contemporary of the Barbie doll, the silver tree this will pick up the pink from the rest of the decorations quite well.Once you have your theme, you might even want to make your own decorations. You could, just for an example, go to a craft store, and get a lot different styles of pink beads, and with white thread. Thread the beads in interesting combinations and make your very own, personal Christmas tree decorations

The last few years I have put up a 4 foot artificial tree. It is green and prelit with white lights. I have some blue balls that have silver glittery snowflakes on them that I put on the tree. I also have a blue star. That is it. Nothing fancy.
For my table full of goodies up at the gas station I have a snowman theme going. I have snowmen place mats and snowmen plates and platters. The goodie bags that I got for the toffee popcorn also have snowmen on them.

Hi Jill, I have friends who colour co-ordinate everything, so that if they have silver, lilac and pink baubbles on the tree, the tinsel and the wrapping paper for the presents are in this colour, me, mine is a wonderful mis-mash of colour, each year we buy something new for the tree but I have ornaments on there from when the girls were little that were made or bought from their school fayres to ones my mum left behind when she emigrated and candy canes that are so old we wouldn't dream of trying to eat. There are all sorts of colours, all sorts of shapes and all sorts of sizes of decoration too and I am sure our angel at the top of a fairy really but we love it, snowmen, santas, angels, fairies, trains, bells, even an old necklace one of the girls no longer wears is draped on it LOL. Unlike the guy you know I only have the one tree also. Huggles. Ellie :D

Last year we did a blue and silver Christmas tree. It looked beautiful! The problem is money. To change themes each year, you have to buy all new decorations and lights and garland. Themed tree's are gorgeous, but can be costly! I'm also a sucker for traditions. I want to start this year with a set of lights and decorations I can add too each year. My parents did that. They have decorations on the tree that they've had for years. I think it's really sweet and sentimental. Each year you look at all those decorations and think about the memories that come with them.
