Laundry...

I have no problem with the housework around my house, EXCEPT laundry. I cannot keep up with it no matter how hard I try. Dishes, Vacuuming, Dusting, cleaning the bathroom....no problem, but I detest laundry!!! Are there any other wives out there that feel this way? What chore do you hate to do????

Doing laundry is okay, getting dried and put away is a nightmare. We live in Japan where using a drier is unheard of. I have one but only use it occainsionly, it would triple my already high electric bill. So I hang the laundry out, but the weather doesn't always co-operate. The chore I hate the most though is doing the dishes, I could cook all day but hate cleaning up after! Jacks

I HAVE to do at least 2 loads of laundry everyday or I am screwed!!!!! My kids and husband all wear a uniform (school or work) so basically it is 2 sets of clothes most days and pj's....then add in towels and changing sheets on 7 beds once a week. Plus we have 2 dogs that love their blankies and if I don't wash them at least twice a week they stink. I have come to accept that the laundry will probably never be caught up. Though, there have been a few occasion when I really did get it all done and seemed like there was not enough room in the dressers and closets to put everything away...it was strange seeing all the clothes all done at the same time. Of course, the next day I had 2 loads to do. I am thankful I have clothes to be washed and a machine that basically does it for me.

It's not the laundry that I hate as much as putting it away! Anyways, with a toddler, all my jobs seem like never ending. Without the kids around to trouble me, I get the jobs done faster and can manage my time well ...and don't mind even the laundry then.

Hi, jsprik. Welcome to myLot. I hear what you are saying. I don't like doing laundry at all. I'm always behind on it and I hate folding and putting it away with a passion.

I would say that taking out the trash is my least favorite chore..and that's why I don't do it! My future husband always takes care of the trash for us. I however see your point with laundry and find it is hard to keep up with as well.. but usually just end up having a weekend when we do 4 loads and are caught up.

If there's one thing that I hate to do, it's cleaning up after my husband! He's soooo messy I see him as a walking garbage truck. But I still love him. ;-)

Hi Jsprik, I generally hate housework, but the one task I dread is ironing. The washing can be done by the machine; hanging out to dry and folding is fine, but not ironing. It's hot and hard work - and I hate when the cloth creases, and I have to iron out the stubborn creases!

I'm with laundry is just so hard to keep up with. I think in part because the minute you get done, that days clothes are in the basket- so its truly never ending. I really think thats what makes laudry so awful- no matter what you can't ever be done (so to speak). Ever thing else cleaning wise in the house offers completion- Good luck and happy mylotting

I find myself most of the time to be always in the kitchen. I also find laundry easy task but what comes after it is the ironing and folding that makes my head ache.
