All people are welcome to share their opinions on this. Ok my hubby and I keeps going through the same debate. We discuss this same thing at least 2 times a week. He say's that when you dream and if you are dreaming that you are falling off a cliff and that you if you don't wake up that you die in real life if you die from it in your dream. What is your idea on this? I keep telling him that it is not true because I have dreams like this all the time and well I'm still standing...

I don't know the truth around it- but it seems a little far fetched (I have heard the same thing since I was a kid) but I would say that I have never had a dream where I was falling so...
I will say I don't know if its worth debating with your hubby every week- I wouls probably just let it go- but thats just me.
Good luck and happy mylotting.

I have tried so hard to let it go but he keeps bringing it up and I then keep telling him my side, but you have a great point there.

Husbands do have a way of doing that don't they. Good luck to you- maybe he'll move onto something else soon and you won't have to debate with him anymore.
Happy mylotting.

Have him read this link, which disproves his theory.
http://www.dreammoods.com/cgibin/fallingdreams.pl?method=exact&header=dreamid&search=fallingintro
Of course, he may still believe that it's true so the only other thing I can say is that there is no physical reason for a dream of any kind to kill someone. Even a person with a bad heart will not die from a bad dream.

You are awake, so obviously the dream has not killed you yet. Just because you are falling off a cliff does not mean you will die. Dream interpretation is a very nebulous subject. Besides, if you don't wake up, how does anyone know what you are really dreaming. It is not like they can tell you, so his argument just doesn't make any sense.

with respect. when someone faces problems in real life, maybe he or she will dream the problem or something bad in his or her dreams .but that's all for it,nothing more for it. never will it happen that the scene in a dream must come true in real life.

My hubby doesn't have problems in life really. He is very non-stress the way I see it. I honestly think theses dreams happen because he is very adventrous. He's all the time talking about that it would be cool to be like the people in the movies were you jump off cliffs and such stuff like that.

I don't know exactly about this one but when I had given my exam that was hled at all india level , I had a dream that I a going up a cliff and my faculty is urging me to jump over a wall and I out of fear of falling dont jump but then a girl behind me crossed me and jumped so I alos gathered my courage and jumped over the wall. When results came out I was beaten by one girl from another state for the gold medal and stood second in the exam at all India level. I hae always wondered if I had jumped or if I had not jmped at all, what would have been the result?

Such intresting point of veiw, so maybe if you have the dream again you should jump and then maybe you will win the gold. Either way if you do jump in your dream I know you will be just fine in real life.

It's not true, i have dreams about it so many times, there are times that i dream that I'm falling from the sky. And i always fall from my bed in real. In dream interpretation alling dreams typically occur during the first stage of sleep. Dreams in this stage are often accompanied by muscle spasms of the arms, legs, and the whole body. These sudden contractions, also known as myclonic jerks. Sometimes when we have these falling dreams, we feel our whole body jerk or twitch and we awaken from this jerk. It is thought that this jerking action is part of an arousal mechanism that allows the sleeper to awaken and become quickly alert and responsive to possible threats in the environment. Falling dreams also often reflect a sense of failure or inferiority in some circumstance or situation. It may be the fear of failing in your job/school, loss of status, or failure in love you feel shameful and lack a sense of pride. You are unable to keep up with the status quo or that you don't measure up.
Hope this will help.

Haha - we all die. That is guaranteed!!
No. Dreams are just dreams. Sadly. Sometimes I wish they could come true. That time I spent with Katherine Zeta-Jones the other night I would really like to come true!!

I have had people tell me all of my life that if you hit bottom in your dream that you would die. I never really put any stock in it, but I know that it unnerves me to wake up from one of those dreams. I have never actually have hit bottom before I woke up. I have an even weirder coincidense, I have a habit where if I dream the same dream three times,it usually happens. The first time that this happened to me, I was in my early teens and the man that I dreamed about I had never met but I met him in a store in my dream. I actually met him two months after the third dream in a local store and me being from MS and him being from OH, that should have been an impossibility. The store that i met him in was in MS. I guess my point is that our dreams are significant and that we often think about those old tells that people have told us when odities happen.

haha~, just leave ur hubby alone. his opinion is wrong, i agree with urs.
but if he insists on it, i think u can say "yes,u r right" in order to avoid a quarrel which is not good for ur relationship. After all, the debate about dream is not important for ur life.
in this way, i believe he will know the truth and thank for ur tolerance someday.
best wishes 2 u ^_^

I usually have dreams of falling down. I came from a very superstitious family and there isn't anything bad connected to that particular dream. I guess your husband just feels concerned about your welfare so I think this is not something to argue about. Just assure him that you'll be fine.
Good luck!

I assure him that I'll be fine all the time but he still seems to think it is true. But I don't think we will be argueing over it any more because he finally decided that he won't bring it up again.

Actually, I experienced the same dream. It is like I am falling in a cliff but then when I was about to die in my dream I suddenly wake up. But a friend of mine also told me the same thing your boyfriend tells you. She said that if I did not wake up before I die in my dream, I would never wake up forever.

I'm assuming that we will still wake up either way, I think it is a story that people like to tell just to get other people going.
