When I decided to blog, I have already read about how writers could earn through blogging, so I entered blogging having this in my mind. It was however, after several months into blogging (6 months) to be exact that I started accepting my first paid post. Then I also started to write for writing sites, like Helium, Triond and AC. That was when the real money came in. Right now, I have several opps which are pending and I hope I can write them all as I have many on line waiting to be written. Now I know, it's true that you can really earn big money on line, if you are dedicated and patient enough to write. There are several sites from which you can earn as a writer. You just have to have the time to sit down and write.
What about you? What were your writing experiences regarding earning money online?

I received my first payments for writing online in March this year. Since then I have been paid every month from various sources, and I am building up my writing income.
You are right to say it requires dedication and patience. You not only require time for writing, you need to spend time researching, networking, reading, rating and promoting.
I have learned about content writing, and how to write articles that get listed high in search engine results. I have found out the importance of networking to promote what I have written, and to discover new oppportunities. I understand that information found in search engine results is not always reliable, so research involves a lot of checking for original sources and official sites.
If you choose to write for daily earnings based on page views at Helium, Triond and AC you also need to participate actively at those sites, by reading other people's articles and voting, rating or commenting. If you just don't take part in these activities your earnings will be much less, or your articles will earn nothing.

I have just started a blog, and I have not really made any money writing online besides reviews for Ciao. I would love for some links sent to me by message for such sites.
Thanks.

That is very useful information.I have been on Ciao and dooyoo since 3-4 months and now ,i too write for Helium since a month only!I have just about started getting payments for my reviews, slow trickle as of now, but i am hopeful...I would say one needs to wait for at least 3-4 months to get any substantial sum and also submit a good number of articles ,say about 100 articles.I have today reached the 3 star level there in both rating and reviewing and i am feeling quite thrilled about it.Can you plz give me some details of AC

For AC , I'm still new, but they pay on time I heard. and they accept articles even if they are already posted before as long as you were the one who wrote them. For Helium, browse the site and go over their titles. be a member and then join the writing contests, for december however, the contests are off. Good luck.

I began my writing experience with Helium early into their first appearance on the writing scene. The site was not as well organized and did not have as many opportunities when I first joined but I still earned a decent little bit of change now and then with them so I stuck with it. Today I am so glad I did I earn a good deal writing for them now and I do not do as much as I should in the contests and marketplace. If I would use those areas I would make pretty good cash for the time I put into the site. I do admit I use the site often. Often for me is as in daily. I write a new article, leap frog an old article, or at least rate some articles every single day. This by far has been my best site for writing. I have joined AC and not had a lot of luck there. I have only used poetry so far and the poems of course were previously published but I dedicate little time to them so it is not expected I earn much. I would like to get into blogging but I am not real sure where to start. I am in the process of attempting to find enough sites and have enough time to balance them all that I can make a decent little income from home until the economy maybe picks up so anyone with any ideas please let me know where I should begin my blog and what I should do and/or if you have any other decent paying freelance sites. Thanks you much my fellow mylotters.

Daily journals are okay as long as your topics are useful to other people. If you have any topic that you have expertise on, then write about it, i.e. health, education, exercise, beauty, etc. if you don't have, then you can enrich your personal experiences to help other people. i,e. "how I managed stress.", "How to contain a stubborn kid." etc. Any topic that other would learn from. With diverse, and various topics, I'm sure you can think of many. Create your blog now, it's free, then join our entrecard community. You can link with me, so I can help you. Good luck.

You have to blog if you want to earn more. You can open a blog with blogger.com first for free/Just go to blogger.com and sing up. It is user friendly so you can follow the prompts. Once you've signed up, enlist your site in all ranking sites to attract traffic. Then join blogging communities, you could start with Entrecard.com and then visit other blogs comment on them, to promote your site. Then go on from there. When you reach a rank (4-6 months for me) You are now ready to apply for pay per post or paid reviews. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your help. Can you tell me one further thing what do you blog about? I have heard so many complain that people use their blogs like a journal and no one cares what is going on in your life so what makes a good topic to write about in a blog?

This is nice to know. I am only a part-time freelance writer, but with this, I feel there is hope for those who may want to do this full-time. With your case however, it is good that you already have specific sources of writing work -- the risk will not be that high.

All great responses. I, too started blogging to earn an income and received my first payment two months ago. Not satisfy with my earnings I started to explore other online writing opportunties, as well.
The only problem is that most of these online writing sites are based on page views, which sucks. But if you are a beginner at the writing arena these websites are a good source to begin your earnings until you build your online presence.
I'm listed in Helium and AC, but have not publish any articles, as of yet.

I have done very well with Associated content. I usually average somewhere between $5-$7 per article, and depending on how many views I get each month I get a small commission. For me it seems that AC is the best paying site for writing on the net. You may also want to check out getafreelancer sometimes there are companies there who are looking for people to blog on their site. I have not actually done that but know a few friends who have and are earning good money. For me Ill stick with AC because Im doing pretty well. I have heard of people who earn their living solely on AC. Thought I know this is usually for those of us in America because if your not in the United States i dont think that they give you a payment up front.

For triond yes, they have stricter rules. Helium and associated content allows you to own the copyright to all your articles, and for me, I earn more from them. especially Helium as they have many venues in which one can earn. Try helium first, there are several topics that you can write to. Good luck.

Thanks, Jenaisle for, encouraging others to keep on blogging and writing for several good-paying sites and for sharing the best sites that you have joined. I have seen those sites but I haven't really spent time in writing articles for them, as I am writing for a group which runs hundreds of web sites. But, I think, your recommendation is much better because with your recommended sites, your article has more potential for more income...passive income, which is a better type of income because it earns while you're doing another thing. In my case, after I'm paid per article, that's it. I don't get the credit and the income stops there. You're right when you say that your article keeps earning especially when it's marketed every now and then. One of these days, I'm gonna visit again Helium and Associated Content and all the others you mentioned. More power to you and more blessings!

Great to hear that you are able to earn online, I think that is great news for all who want to start to earn. I am currently with helium and perhaps would expand once I get more time. However that might mean I have less time over at mylot. haha. See how it goes.

If you're at helium, visit the marketplace and the writing contests. Browse over the titles. you'll earn more when you participate in these. The daily views would not be enough to give you real earnings, you have to have more than a hundred articles to get good earnings from reviews.

Did you start getting requests for writing just from people seeing your articles on Helium, Triond, AC?
I'm on Helium, AC, Triond -- do you have others you could send me a link to?

Hi Jena!
It's good that you're really making money with those sites. I'm sorry for not taking the time with Helium, as I am busy writing elsewhere. I earn as much P10K monthly, more if I write as often. The only problem with this is that I don't have my name on them... yes, I'm writing for somebody. But it's okay, I am taking this as a training, and besides it's bringing me money.
As for my blogs, I do have paid posts every now and then, although because of a low PR, I don't get that much writing opportunities. I really I can get the hang of Helium and add more to my money online. I signed up with AC as well.
Regards,
Roy

Hi Roy, concentrate on Helium first. You could easily earn that P10K within 2 weeks if you join the contest an write for the marketplace. Marketplace pays about $16 to $140 for each article, and that is EACH article. And your articles still earn page view. They have also many incentives now like upfront payments, etc. I lost my star but I still earn good money. I hope by next month my star will be back so I can earn upfront payments. Visit the site and browse about their incentives. You try "review me" . They pay good money too, from $10 to 40 $ for EACH review. Good luck.
