How often do you check your own profile page?

Ah, so you're a "once a day" man then alok! I tyr to do the same myself but maybe not every single day and more like every second or so..... The main things I check are comments on photo's, numbr of visitors and friends comments. Now that I think about it, I haven't made any changes to my profile in a very long time either. Maybe it's time for a new pimpin'? lol. Thanks for the response mate and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Now this is something i am looking forward to see. Your new profile and how whacky you can get it to be. Weekend for me is sleep, eat and sleep and then watch TV. And all i get to see right now is the aftermath and all post mortem and tensions.... of the recent Mumbai attacks.

You have all my blessings and positive feelings in regards to Mumbai alok. It is all very close to home for me also as I lived and worked in the locations that were under attack. I have stayed in both Hotel's concerned, worked two buildings down from the Oberoi; and have eaten at the Cafe that was attacked on many occasions. I have touched base with friends there and thankfully all are OK. India is a resilient nation and will bounce back from this, no question. It is a sad and unfortunate event that I hope will be learned from and pave the way to a brighter future. Anyway, positive, positive and that is all I have to say on that for now. And as for my profile page..... I don't know if I could even be bothered trying to pimp it out to be honest! lol. Maybe if I get the time I will seriously consider it but it has been the same for ages now and I know where everything is!

I agree that it can offer a quick and direct route to many other areas, but I generally use my home page for this more than my profile page. I do start from my profile to check discussions friends have started in the past though and will also check their own pages for the same, just like you have mentioned yourself. I tend to use my mylot homepage to check if I have any new responses, but I do check my profile regularly for any new comments. I agree that it is nice to see comments made by friends; the downside for me though is when people put referral banners instead! I haven't had that happen for some time though, so I can't really complain. Thanks for the response dpk.

The referal link posting in my profile is by far my number one pet peeve dpk! I see red whenever it happens. I even know of some members that have completely removed their comments sections because of it. The positive comments make up for it all in the end though.

It is good that you check your profile page regularly to check new comments. This way you can convey your gratitude to your friends, who post their comments on your profile page well in time.I also do not like referral links to be posted on my profile page.

Hi Margarit. New profile picture I see. "La Gioconda"..... Nice choice! I have seen the moving avatars too and tried to set one up for my wife when she joined. I couldn't get it to move either so maybe someone else can share how they did it? Backgrounds on profiles are something I know little about too unfortunately and other than changing colour schemes, I am not sure how people end up making theirs so much more dynamic. Maybe we will both learn something new today then if answers are given. You could even ask in a new discussion maybe? Thanks for the response.

The main reason people would check their profile pages is to see if there are any friends comments, to see how many visitors they have had; and to maybe check for new discussions and pimp it out every now and then. There are probably many toher things people do as well, but these are probably the more common things. Thanks for the response and I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Heya mimpi. I am fine thank you and trust you are also? I never used to check mine much in the past either, but now I do so quite regularly. It is a nice feeling to be gained when seeing all these wonderful comments from friends, yes. Some funny, some sweet..... And some that are just plain bizarre! lol. Whatever thay may be, it always provides me with a strong sense of community and friendship and I couldn't ask for more than that! Thanks for the response.

I don't change mine either and don't even recall when I last did; but I do check several times a week for any new friends comments and things like that. Your checking habits sound a lot like my own, minx. You can check how many visitors you have had for each day and as a whole in the left column. It will also show how long you have been a member and when you last logged on. I don;t have any banners on mine and mainly check friends comments the most. Thanks for the response.

Good morning Mr Freyne. I haven't checked your profile page for a week or so to be honest, so I will check today for some of this entertainment you have provided! I have seen so many interesting and engaging things others have done with their profiles in the past, but I always seem to stay with the basics. Maybe one dau I will get a bit more adventurous! I am not sure off the top of my head how to add comments sections under video's but I do believe you can add sections with free text. Maybe you can try using the HTML boxes and use text rather than HTML code in them? It will not allow for other's comments, but you can place your own in there. Give that a try I reckon. I may not check my own profile EVERY day, but I do at least check every second day or so. It's more for comments than anything else though and I keep tabs on overall activity through my homepage. Thanks for the response Daffodil.

I don't check my own profile quite that often and will generally check it at least every two days. Sometimes though I will go to it many times in a day, but this is not common. I think it is a good practice because it is nice to see if you are getting visitors and to read friends comments. Thanks for the response vinoth. Sharra, I do exactly what you do myself. I do not have notifications set-up at all because the emails drive me crazy! lol. And I do end up missing the activity of friends from time to time, so going to their profiles is a great way for me to keep track of everything they are doing.

I found that my profile can be a great way to check friends profiles if I want to check on their discussions. I know I can do it through friends started but that can take ages to go through and if I am looking for a specific friend to see what they are up to I can do it easier through my profile.

I keep track of all my activity and my friends activity etc from my homepage more than my profile page. I do check the profile regularly for comments and visitor counts though. I have always like the way we can manipulate our homepages in any way we like and it is a great way to see everything at a glance. Thanks for the response kiran.

Hi embittered. I visit my friends profiles too from time to time. I mainly do it to see if they have started any new discussions or to add the occasional comment there. Sometimes I miss their activity for one reason or another so this is a good way to keep up to date with them. Thanks for the response and I wish for you a nice day also.
