Did you noticed guys that robbery cases are higher this season? why? is it because robbers think people have a lot money this time? or is it because they need more money this season? hmm. what do you think? Just last two days ago, four of my neighbors lost something due to a robber who take out some of their things near the window and some of their clothes that are hanged outside. good thing the robber did not get into our house and to think there are at least a dozen of clothes hanged outside..
SO what do you think guys? why are the incidents of robberies are higher at this time?

I guess, it basically has to do with the season. Weird is, there's this pressure that christmas should be celebrated grandly thus one (especially since it has been financially challenging to everyone these days) to produce a happy and food-filled christmas, thus, these people tend to use crookedness just to have some christmas preparation.

I think the main reason why there are higher robbery rates is the fact that life is getting harder. With the economy worsening, prices of good increases but wages don't. More people are finding it harder to earn a decent living so they resort to robbing. As a result of this, more and more people resort to robbery. Then to add to this, it's the Christmas season so as the others ahead of me mentioned, more people are carrying around more money for Christmas shopping making them more likely to be a victim of a robbery.

Yes I guess people does know that this season will be a good season to hunt for their victims too. I guess it's really the trend and as you can see there are more people that go out in this time of the period since there are many holidays that go by it and more people tend to spend more that is why this criminals are on the prowl which one to target then. Also, I guess when election is nearing too it also tend to increase criminality because I guess some politicians are juicing this gangs up for them to increase their capital for campaign period.

Well, there's a worldwide crisis and that's why there's a higher incidents of robberies. It's because people are even preparing for Christmas day that's why those bad guys are thinking there's a lot of money those who shops around the malls and even walking the street. There's a lot of people now who is struggling just to eat 3 times a day or just once is enough just to survive. Pity to those people but how about their innocent victims. I guess, we cannot blame those people but of course we should be aware of them. Don't trust anybody, and don't walk on the street along either in a day or night.

Robbers are very active during this season because they are taking advantage of the fact that most people have received their bonuses and money are out to do shopping. One of my office mates was victimized by a snatcher some few weeks ago and just last Friday, (salary day) another one was victimized by a pickpocket and lost her P5,000 which she thought could be safer if placed in her pocket but she was wrong because the pickpocket was able to get it without her knowledge.

I think there are more robberies because of the economy and because people are in more need in the winter due to high heating bills and they need more money due to the holidays.

it could be..
where i live though,i think it's some of that plus the worsening economy.
my state has the worst unemployment in the US and robberies are becoming more frequent.

It's just that people are opportunistic and know there is more to still during the holiday season.
It's like that every year. There are warning not to let all the presents under the tree show from the window. Not to leave things visible in your car etc.
I can't stand thieves. There is no reason to take things. If they would truly need something there are many people who would give it too them. But most thieves don't need. They want. Big difference.
I have a friend who lost everything except the clothes on her back in a fire. I gave her a bag of my best clothes. It was just a few of everything, but it was enough until she could buy some new clothes.

Yes , they have said it in the news that during october november the robberies are so high. Maybe because a lot of people are getting their 13month pay , bonuses and leave conversion . We just have to be very careful i guess with the hard earned money we receive. They say " DO not show what you have so that others will not be tempted to get it ". and it is very true, we dont have to flaunt what we have because others dont have it and they also want to have what we possessed

hey pehpot,
well yeah, it is getting worse this time...in fact, our street has experienced this 4 times in a month! gosh, it is totally scary and now our doors have to be lucked which is pretty unusual for us, as neighbors seldom lock their doors..but, now things changed...
i guess it has a direction to do with the economy and many people have lost their jobs, and the worldly situation is getting scary indeed these days...
anyhow, nice discussion you got, and have a good day ahead,
bye,
smiley

Robberies are more common during this season because people tend to carry more money on them when they go out to stores simply because it is the Holiday season. I also think the recent financial crisis may be a valid tipping point for some people to result to robbery in these times of need. However I truly do not know why robberies are overall higher around now, for you would need to ask the robbers themselves why they did their actions.

Thats because nobody cares much of the society. Every one cares only about them and their family. Then who else can help stopping robbery.

Hi! Well, it has always been a trend that when there's economic crisis, the criminality rate and robbery rates are high. I guess it's survival instinct for those who wanted something instant. Perhaps because of the crisis, there's also lack of jobs or steady source of income, so some would resort to quick fixes. It's pathetic, yes, to take advantage of others just to gratify one's needs. But then, in the Philippines, there are big families, so there are more children to feed. Life's really tough.

There are also a proliferation of scammers or con artists... i know some people who where quite intelligent... but still they were fooled into giving money... i guess with the current economic crisis... it is the battle of the fittest... and those who are not careful will end up at the bottom of those who are wise in an evil way...

At this time of year robbery is always higher. I think it's the pressure, also people are buying gifts so that means more new stuff is available in people's homes. I know that pick-pockets are on the rise, of course more people are out buying, and with bigger crowds people are not as careful as usual. All these things cause more robbery to happen

Yes, you are right my friend. Robbers have come out of their hideouts and are now to pester homes again. Well, since Christmas is now approaching, they need to have some money for the said season. Too bad because they have picked a wrong way of getting money. I think some people made robbing as their way of earning a living. Even little things interests them.

I also noticed that the cases of robberies go up especially this season, when Christmas is just around the corner. Some people do this maybe due to reasons like what you have said, they think that other people have lots of money during this season when they have received their Christmas bonuses and 13th month pay. Some may do robbery because they want to give their families a good Christmas even if the money they are spending are from their bad deeds. It is sad to think this way but we can't help but assume things like these. My niece is one of the victims of these robbers. My niece went to Alabang last week and her cellphones and money were taken without her even knowing or feeling that she was being robbed. That's how smart these robbers are. I feel sad for my niece because she lost her allowance that is good for two weeks. Those culprits have no mercy.
