say "hi" to strangers to make friends

have you had such feeling that you just want to make friends with every strangers looking kind and sweet? when i walk on the street or studies in the library, i always ask myself why just say hello to that guy, it means nothing but friendly and a little admiration? it is much more easy to say "hi" online with a totally stranger, i think. why not for real life?

I used to have the same feeling too, but not often. Actually, it's not so hard to say hello to a stranger( I did this to a foreigner before), but it's not easy to continue the conversation since you don't know what you should say the strangers.And if both of you don't talk, you may feel embarassed and go away. That's not a good ending, yes? What do you think?

absolutely! i had such experience too. however, i said to the foreigner more for practicing my english rather than hold special feelings. if i see a charming girl in library giving the impression that she has the similar character like me , or a pretty guy, it may be difficult for me to say hi to them. thus, i think we may lose some chances to make friends with people we hope to make friends with. we'd like to complaint of lack of interesting friends; however, it may be because we are living with constraints of ourselves. Right?

Yeah its kinda strange here. but it depands on what kinda situation. If when walk in the street... hahahal... that person will probably think i a thief or something like that, its not a common thing to do that in my country.
but if in the library, you can start by asking books.
even in mall, you can easily make friends. just not on the street
