I started my Christmas shopping in October so I made a good head start! I have now only got 4 more small gifts left to buy and I am done and dusted. I started early for several reasons. I didn't want to leave it too late just incase the shops sold out of certain things, I wanted to spread the cost over a couple of months so I wasn't left with a small amount of money to live off and I wanted to be able to relax during the build up to the actual day, there is so much going on in our town before Christmas I didn't want myself or my kids to miss any of it because we were off Christmas shopping! I plan to start next years Christmas shoppin in January during the sales LOL
So how many more gifts do you have left to buy?

Oh why did you have to remind me :))) I dont have a single present for anyone yet (ok so my christmas is on 6 th january) but still no excuse. Usually I start in January and shop all year and I have wonderful presents for everyone, but this year with my overseas holiday and the pregnancy I simply dont have time. I will give my nephews money and go shoping when I feel beter for everyone else.

I am glad someone knows about the "old christmas" yes it is when we all used to celebrate but that was changed years ago when the calendar changed. we chose to keep it and I am glad because that makes us different

We have just a couple left to get except for our gifts to each other. We did most of ours online on Friday. I wanted to go to the mall because I always went with my daughter that day. But this year I'm having a lot of back problems and didn't feel like I could spend all that time walking and shopping. So we let our fingers do the walking lol. Some of them have already been shipped out. I love Amazon lol. It's not as much fun shopping that way but it helps when you can't do a lot of running around.

Hi there lilcee
Thank Heavens for the internet eh? My brother lives in Kuwait and the rest of his family in the UK so he has done all his through Amazon too! I have managed to reserve some gifts through a website then I was able to just go in and pick it up making sure they had the item in stock and that is a lot easier and quicker with no delivery charge to pay. Nothing worse than having seen something you want to buy for someone and going into the shop only to find they have sold out!!
Thanks lilcee

I know what you mean. I drove to a couple of places to find something and when I got there, they were all out. I couldn't saved time and gotten it online. I ordered a lot of things from Amazon on a Fri and got them by the end of the next week. They were really fast.

Hi Humbug, Wow I thought I was organised! Like you I started early, I start after my eldests birthday at the beginning of September. I have one left to go out and buy and would have done that by now except been tucked up in bed with a nasty bug. I also have one to buy online which I will do later today but know there is plenty of stock, then other than the fresh fruit and veg nearer the day and to post off a couple of parcels and the Christmas cards, all sorted. BLISS. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi ellie333
Well I wrapped the Christmas stocking stuff last night and will make a start on the wrapping of the actual gifts tonight. I have still got some parcels to post and will do that in the week but have now bought all the gifts so there is no panic buying to do.
Cheers ellie

I have not started christmas shopping yet. My sister bought a blender for my mother and I shared the expenses with her. We are going to give christmas tickets as presents to our nephews and nieces and there will be a few gifts left to buy for my brothers and sisters. Usually I would leave that to my wife. She is good at selecting gifts.

I still got many gifts left to buy. I'm still pretty busy as of the moment. I'm planning to complete my Christmas shopping on the second week of the month. I hope that malls are not too crowded at that time, I think I should go during weekdays.

I am about half way there i have got all my sister and nieces presents.
I have one more thing that i want to get for my partner and that is him done.
So i just have my parents, who are hard to buy for, and my children left to be done. This year i have done most of my shopping online as i have been saving amazon vouchers up for a while and that has paid for the majority of my presents so far.
I plan to get them in the next week or so, like you i want to be able to relax and not be rushing around at the last moment.

Hi Anne18
I did that this year, I bought a gift for my friends daughter in the summer because it was half price. My friend recently told me that her daughter is no longer into Bratz, well as big as she was before so she told me to give it to her anyway!
Thanks Anne

I hate to admit that I haven't bought a single gift yet, but... there it is. Things have been lean this year, thanks to some issues with the house in which I live, so most of my gifts will either be homemade or very inexpensive. I just dug out my old crochet hook and started pulling together patterns of things I used to make. I'll even turn it into a family affair with some of the things - right now, every kid in the family has their orders in for a pair of crocheted slippers, and two have asked if I can make a pair for "a friend". I'm going to teach those two the pattern and let them make their own for gifts!

You sound like you are very organized my friend! This year I have honestly cut back on presents big time, mainly because I am not gainfully employed and the fact that none of us can afford presents, so we have said to our relatives not to buy! It's for children anyhow and for adults money or tokens are much preferable, then at least you can go out in the January sales and buy something you like rather than buy something that someone may not like or pay twice as much pre-sale! I tend to buy online too, I can't bear shopping at the best of times, and Christmas shopping is a big no no for me! Bah humbug LOL!

Hi ya wolfie34
That's why I started in October so that I could spread the cost over and to avoid the busy shops. As my son's birthday is at the begining of January he usually gets really good gifts from people because he gets the pressies people have bought in the sales so like he gets something that would have been sold for a tenner (which no one would normally buy) but because it is only a fiver people will buy it for him!! Hahahaha Some advantages to having a birthday right after Christmas!
Cheers wolfie

I have three gift cards left to get and a few stocking stuffers.....otherwise I have everything bought and wrapped. I am putting up the CHristmas tree today and they will soon be tucked under it ready for Christmas! I do some shopping all year long if I find a bargain and I know it's something someone would love...

Hi Humbug,
Your reasons for starting early are like my own, I hate the rush around at Christmas, the endless queing drives me mad and it's makes other shoppers mad too, especially when it comes to food shopping for Christmas, people are so impaitient so the thought of doing that makes me start early.

Hi ya scorpio19
What hate is the heat in the shops. As there are so many so bodies bustling about and the heating is on I get hot and stressed and leave shortly after I have gone in, sometimes with and sometimes without getting what I went in for!
Cheers scorpio
