When do you rate"the best response"?

i guess i did not realize we are allowed to rate .i thought mylot does that. i am still learning alot about this site . iguess i had better figure out what my best responses may be.what happens after they are rated?

I simply gave the best response to the responders that give it in my discussions. As to the timing, it actually depends on the frequency of replies I get from one topic. If I feel that i won't be getting any additional comments, then its time for me to choose which one receives my recognition as my topic's "Best Response". Though sometimes I give it to person who posted their responses first. lol! To be fair, as much as possible I read every single response to my topics to choose the real best response.

I don't set a time limit on it. I wait until I stop getting responses, then choose the best. I feel bad sometimes, because a few times the best response has come after I've already designated that to some one.

I generally don't give out Best Responses because I appreciate everyone's contributions. However, if somebody leaves an outstanding comment that definitely deserves the reward, I;d give it. So far, that hasn't happened. I've had some pretty great replies but tend not to give out a Best Resopnse because I feel bad for anyone else who posted well.

I only do best responses if I see that the person really helped me in an easy way that anyone could understand or if I see that someone has really spent a lot of energy in writing their message. I think that's important so I give them the best response.
