I heard this in a radio station that I am listening. They were having this conversation about a popular celebrities son who is saying the F**K word always. And this kid is just below 5 years old. I dunno if that is true, but thinking about it. I think I started when I am older than 10. How bout you fellow mylotters?

yeah, kids are starting to curse at younger age these days and i think they mostly learn it from their parents. i didn't start cursing until i was in high school. i personally don't think cursing is really all that bad if done sparingly (i know many people will disagree and that's ok). i look at it like adding spices to your food. a little bit here and there is ok but too much will spoil the taste. however, little kids shouldn't be taught to curse because they don't even know what those words mean and they can't be discreet about it. so to them they're meaningless but to others they may sound repulsive or at least inappropriate coming from the mouths of babes, and will reflect badly on the parents.

that is so true! I totally agree with you. Kids hear it from their parents, they won't know such words if they didn't hear it from their parents. And you are absolutely right with the "too much will spoil the taste", hearing it once from a kid is funny to me but hearing it more than 5 times that is too much, they're just kids they don't know what it means.
Thanks for the response! Happy mylotting!

This is a problem. I started to curse at 15 years, and i don't do this often. If you are a religious person, you'll understand me. Now, someone may say - "oh, crap this sh..." This is the things we are confronting to. Humans are so ignorant. I will not let my child to curse. The problem is that, nowadays, people don't speak ugly just when their are upset, but even when they just don't what to say...I didn't do a fuc... thing. Why is that?
Have a nice day!

I was already in college the first time I did any serious cursing, and it was in Tagalog - P I. It shocked me more than the two friends I was with at that time. I never got to do it often though. I don't even remember when I learned the F word. I'm not surprised that a 5-year-old can say that now - exposure you know. Cuss words are just everywhere now. I hear them often enough here even from kids who don't even go to school yet, though it is also in Tagalog. Sigh...

47. Yes, 47. And that was only cause of the place I worked, everyone cussed all the time and so much, it just slimmed into me and at home one day something didn't do right and I said "$)*#(^#)*)#* (^%(%___@@#". I shocked myself when that came out of my mouth! I thought I was at work! I had heard it so much and so constantly it just slithered into me. I literaly slapped myself in the face and decided that wasn't going to happen again and next day at work, I walked away from those saying htis stuff - there was one REALLY COMMON phrase that everyone picked up as the boss used it whether refering to a good or bad issue! I told people to watch their language, they thought I was nuts, but when I stopped talking to them or walked away they all "suddenly" did better about not cussing around me. Bad enough I had to listen to it all, but I am not going to speak it! That's where I draw the line.

I guess everyone of us here experience saying or using cursing words. Because when we were a child we always like to do what grown ups do and that includes cursing. With that kid i could never blame him , he sees it in TV or in Movie so i guess he felt it is just right to say it.

Hey trish! I really don't remember how old I was when I started
cursing, but I was alot older than 10! But, then again I grew
up in a completely different generation! I lived through the
"peace and love" and Woodstock generation! I must have started
cursing when I was maybe 14. I know I had to be in Junior High
School. I'm sure I wasn't in grade school. But, it was a very
long time ago! Things weren't as acceptable then as they are
now! It isn't so surprising to hear such a little kid cursing,
although it is still a bit shocking to hear that kind of word
coming out of the mouth of a 5 year old. But, it is the fault
of the parents of this generation. They don't watch what they
say around children and this is what happens! I never heard
those words from my parents until I was an adult! I said them
first!

I started at three years old. It took a lot of spankings to get me to quit, then I started back in the 4th grade. A lot of little kids curse though.
