Dropped your cordless phone in water?
What was happening to cause this to happen?
If you haven't do you know anyone who has done this?
Perhaps it wasn't you...Perhaps it was your child or other family member?
Did it work afterwords or did you have to get a new one?
Was it an expensive cordless to start with?
Do you have both a cordless and a desk phone?
Do you rely on your cordless?
You may wonder just why I am asking all of these questions...
I just did this on Friday to my very high end cordless speaker phone
I was going to phone my Mom but I had to go to the washroom and so absentmindedly took the cordless with me as it was in my hand and placed it beside the sink while I did what I had to do. When I was washing my hands I accidentally knocked it off and it went into the toilet!Very embarrassed to share this but I am interested to know if this has happened to anyone else...It could have been dish water or the pets water bowl or a fish tank...Anything! Did it still work? Mine does not despite my attempts to dry it out immediately!!
I miss it very much as I use it all the time...Usually on Speaker Mode while I am doing other things like cooking or washing dishes and talking on the phone to family etc. I am surprised I've never had an accident while washing dishes but no and now this...My Husband is going to look into a new hand set on Monday (Tomorrow)...I hope it doesn't cost too much! Thankfully we do have a desk hone but it just isn't the same to me!
Please share all of your related stories here and please do not make fun of me..... I've already been hard enough on myself!!!

I have never done this to my own phone but you want to talk about embarressment? When I was selling Kirbys, I got a customer's phone wet to the point that it didn't work. But he told me by tomorrow, after it dried out, it would work. He told me not to worry, he said he's in construction and knows all about having accidents at customer's house. So you can bet I'm not going to make fun of you. Also, don't be hard on yourself, it was an accident. You are human. It happens. And there's one more thing. You may want to try it tomorrow before buying another one.

Well, it was Friday and now it is Sunday and still it is not working...We have been checking every day! I am sad to lose my phone but hope my husband can get the exact same hand set as it is an excellent phone! It holds charge for many days on end and is a wonderful speaker phone as well....I am still upset that I did this but thanks so much for understanding!
I am glad that your customers phone still worked after that!

Hi heavens, I'm very sorry (and surprised) to hear about your phone. The surprise is due to the fact that I just wasn't expecting this. Of course, no one 'expects' these things, therefore they're accidents. I imagine you'll recall the night (sometime ago now), when my daughter was doing dishes. She 'accidentally' dropped our cordless phone in the sink, which was filled with water. I can remember hearing her reaction, as she 'freaked out.' I was upset too, and the phone stopped working immediately by the way. It did no good for us to try to dry it out, which we did do. It was quite an expensive and heavy phone, that had been a gift.
We've since had it replaced with a much lighter, less expensive one, but I still miss the other phone. Our current one always seems to have a low battery. It really doesn't stay charged for very long. For some reason as you know, there's some kind of a defect in this phone. It only works when it feels like it. I often have to 'smack' the bottom of it with the palm of my hand, to even get a dial tone. I do hope your husband is able to get the same handset. Please don't be too hard on yourself, as these things happen.
Take care.
Hugs

At least if it's not an older model, hopefully you'll have a chance to get the same one.

I wish you great success in your endeavour. By your "much earlier shift," do you mean that you're now starting before 2:15?

Aha, Heavenschild, I have almost the same experience with you. Fortunely, just the key of the phone can be used, the phone is OK. From this time, i am very carefully when taking the phone if water is near.

So sorry that you had to replace your phone!
At least we learn from our mistakes and it won't happen again!!
