There a number of decent chain options, but my favorite pizza to this day still rests in San Francisco on the corner of Powell and Ellis St. just where the Cable Car turnaround is and a little south of Union Square. The pizza there was the best that I've had; very saucy with good flavor, a great selection of fresh toppings, and a great atmosphere. When I lived in the area, I would take trips to San Francisco for food, and Blondie's was always one of my definite stops!

Fresh toppings is a must have when making good pizza. Man, I'm getting hungry reading this discussion!

Aurelio's pizza in Illinois is my all time favorite pizza. I have not had one of them in about 5 years. Not since I moved to Missouri. There are no Aurelio's around here. You used to be able to pick one up uncooked and take it home and cook it yourself or you could get it already cooked.

I have heard of places like that where you can take them home uncooked. I think it's a great idea that more pizza places should offer.

I went to eku in richmond ky which is right outside of berea. I like paplenos. I had a friend that worked there that would bring me food from there on some nights. I like little ceasars.... cheap food, but really good. Yoyu can get a hot and ready pizza for $5 and an order of cheesey bread is like $3. Very good food and very convienient.

The best pizza I ever had was a deep dish at this restaurant/bar called "The Nines" in Ithaca, NY. Probably wouldn't hold a candle to specialized pizzerias but twenty years ago it was great.
