I will be the first to admit that I do enjoy a reality tv show - not necessarily a GOOD one - I don't know that there are any, lol.
My discussion toad, is about the actual REALITY of these shows. Do you believe that these are unscripted (or partially scripted, as I am aware) and why do you think celebs are enticed to portray themselves in such usually negative ways? Is if for tv face time? And if so, do the pro's outweigh the cons as far as their careers after participation?
I find the only reality involved in these shows is that it makes me REALY glad to be who I am and not on those shows, lol.
I look forward to reading your thoughts - oh, and what's your favorite? I am enjoying Real Chance of Love - it's a great insight into what people will do to get on tv!!

reality show.
Hey friend, I love to watch reality shows even though I believe that they are fixed before hand. So I don't really know why they are calling it reality accept for the fact that sometimes there are surprises that suddenly seem to happen when you least expect it. I used to watch real chance at Love but Idk if that one comes on any more now that Real has found himself a girl. Now I like to watch New York goes to work. She is such a character all by herself and i guess that celebrities just do this sort of thing for the chance to become famous, I mean after all they are going to be known practically world wide after being seen on national tv. Besides that the money probably isn't half bad either. I think I will go and try to catch me a reality show right now, lols. Thanks for posting, have a great day!

I think it is more about TV face time than anything. I don't think they are scripted per say, but I do believe that pre-planned scenarios are brought to the casts, things that they know are going to stir up some controversy with someone on the show who is going to start in on someone else. I am also sure that they tell the cast what to do some times, like go steal someone's underwear and see what happens. My brother was actually on a talk show once, and they did not tell them exactly what to say but they did tell them how to act, and what to play up and what to play down. So it is not scripted but definately planned.
