Did I forget anything?

I am packing my bag for the hospital stay. I have shampoo, soap, toothbrush, hairbrush, undies, an outfit to go home in for me and the baby, deodorant picture of my daughter ...I cannot think of anything else to bring. A c-section stay is a minimum of 3-4 days. What would you bring with you?

I would take books to read, magazines, maybe a deck of cards for solitaire or playing card games with visitors, crossword puzzle books, and other light items I can use to pass the time. TV is there, but it can still get pretty boring even if you have the baby in the room with you all the time since the baby will be sleeping most of that time (hopefully).

Oh yes, you didn't mention taking your own nighties or pajamas. Those hospital gowns are horrible and you don't have to wear them except during the procedures. Also, I have had different times of being extremely itchy because of what the hospitals use to wash their linens in so I was allowed to have my own bedsheets. Thankfully I had extra twin size sheets at home and didn't have to go out and buy any. A bathrobe is good too because just like the hospital gowns, their bathrobes are not that great.

For my first couple kids I was too afraid to wear my own nighties, so never brought them. I was worried I'd bleed on them, because the first couple days there's a lot of blood. But I had regular deliveries, I have no idea what a c-section is like. I'm just guessing anything around the waist is going to be uncomfortable.

Sounds like you've thought of all the basic fundamentals. Perhaps something to read or something to watch.

I would also recommend a journal or the baby book so you can write things down of your thoughts and impressions for the baby book. Some wait usually till later and lose alot or forgets so if you could scribble stuff down then it would be great. If you have a DVD portable Player maybe take it along and maybe watch a movie you have been wanting to but haven't had time to. Some hospitals will loan out laptops you just have to ask and sign it out. but one thing you should take is a Camera for sure to also take a few pictures.

what about your cellphone?that is very important when you want to make calls or send messages to friends and families and if your cellphone has music in it then that is great...3 to 4 days stay in the hospital is very boring i should say because i have been hospitalized three times already.

I had a surgery in August and perhaps I can give you a little bit idea. I think you can also bring your cellphone so that you can contact with your family and friends. And you have to also bring the battery charger because of it. Or you can bring some books and magazines to kill the time as staying in the hospital is quite boring. I love China

I never even really brought that much. My hospital supplied all the toiletries, and I don't know if you'll be up for showering anyways after a c-section. I'm not sure how that works. Anyways, my list always included my bathrobe and slippers. Some books or crafts or music players in case I got bored, not that I ever did, lol. You might also want to bring chapstick and lotion because hospitals are really dry. And of course all the baby stuff. I brought a couple outfits and blankets, for the pictures. Of course you'll get visitors so if you've forgotten anything they can bring it for you. Hubby had to bring hair ties for me! I have a question though, I've never had a c-section, so... do you still bleed like crazy for like 6 weeks, or is it like a normal period or what?

i would bring your little black book with any of your friends phone numbers in it that you may want to talk to. i found that when i was in the hospital i needed a lot of numbers that i did not have with me.

Well, maybe a few of your own pads because the ones that the hospital might use might not be good ones. My niece hated them and we had to go out and get her some of her usual ones. Also I would stick in a stash of goodies that you might not get at the hospital and that way when you feel munchies coming on you can just grab from your stash. and maybe lotion if you use it.

Do you like to read? I would take a book if so. I would also take some house slippers, socks or houseshoes also.

I would bring a few magazines with me, because hospital cable sucks unless you only have antenna at home, then you may find something that you haven't seen twenty times in the past week. If you have one, I would bring my laptop too. Since you won't be able to move around, you could get some serious MyLotting done!

Hello ersmommy. My wife also had a C-section when she gave birth to my baby son. But I was not at home as I work far away from my hometown. Therefore I have no idea what to take with, but I appreciate my siblings and parents and parents-in-laws who offered a lot of help to my wife and my baby son so thoughtfully. I owe them a lot to help my wife and my baby son. I am very grateful to have their help as always. I am very glad that you are now taking good care of your baby son. Take good care of yourself, dear friend.

I would bring a camera. Those first shots of the baby are always nice. I would also do as suggested by everyone else and bring a book. Some munchies is a good idea too.

First of all let me say congratulations. I'm sure you are glad that this day has finally come. You have been given a lot of good advise here already and I can't think of anything else to add. I just wanted to say that you shouldn't be surprised if after planning so carefully you find that you don't use hardly any of the things you took with you. Will you be sharing pictures of the new baby with us mylotters?

Good luck. I really hope it goes well. I am sure you are excited too. I would bring a book and some sanitary products. You will need them. I always forget them. You might want to bring some food too as hospital food where I live is awful. I really wish you the best at this time. I am excited for you now. Take care ersmommy1
