Why are the best things in life always ruined?

I was myLotting and listening to soothing music when I heard rain coming from outside. I then lowered the volume of my music and enjoyed it. I leaned back in my chair and was like, "ahhhhhh." For a moment, I was completely relaxed, then VROOOOOOM - a vaccum cleaner came on. I then thought, "Ugh, there went that," and now I'm back to myLotting.
I just want to ask all of myLot... why are the best things in life always ruined? You get a few seconds of pleasure, then something else comes along and kicks it away from your grasp... why does that happen?

Maybe the reason stuff like that happens is so that we learn to appreciate things more. And maybe also so that the good things stand out more.
I remember a moment which was really romantic in my life, and I am glad I was given the chance to realize it when it happened.
By the way, chickencereal, you have a very unique name and avatar. Thanks for starting this discussion, and have a wonderful day.

I guess life's pleasures is just a little thing we take for granted, eh? Maybe I need to appreciate them a little bit more. Hopefully I'll get some more of them :)
Thanks for the compliment. Does "kykidd" mean you grew up in Kentucky? I live in Kentucky right now and I've lived here all my life, so I guess that's something I can relate to, lol.

The best things are never ruined, they are merely interrupted. You should take time to enjoy them regardless of what is happening, like in your example you should have focused on the rain and its beauty. Personally, I enjoy everything I can because it could always be my last experience with it. However, I think it is just the cruel irony of the world to do such things like that.

Well, the thing is, I couldn't hear the rain due to the vacuum cleaner. But, you are kind of right when you say that it could be the last experience I have with it. Maybe I'll enjoy life's pleasures a bit more :)

Well you know the saying nothing last forever. Well there you go You should enjoy a moment like that when it comes along even if its for just a few seonds. Because lets face it life is more about pain then it is being happy at least that is for me and a lot of people.

Hmmm... that's true. I guess nothing lasts forever, but I don't think life is more about pain. I think life "has mood swings," at least to an extent. It's happy, then the next minute, you're on the ground crying because you broke your leg. I guess I should just enjoy what life throws at me when I can :)

Marriage is one of the best thing in life always ruined. I'm lucky that i'm happily marriage for 15 years. And till now, I'm still in love with my husband.
But some of my friends and even my 2 bothers have fail marriage. It is really devastating.

Peaks and valleys, peaks and valleys. We need the bad to know when we have the good. i know it sucks when something good is ripped away from us. trust me I know. I have four kids and nothing can destroy a moment quite like a child. Enjoy it when it happens. That's all you can really do.
