I love seeing others trees from their front windows as I drive around during the holidays. SO I set my tree up near my large living room window for this purpose. Here is a shot of mine from outside when it is drak. I love the moisture on the interior windows in this shot as well. Where do you place your tree each year and why is that the spot you use each year?

Your tree is beautiful!..I'm having a problem this year I have 2 grandsons from 2 of my children who have boys that are both 1 yrs old..they love to climb and have already shown that they might try to climb the trees if we don't watch them like a hawk...I know this sounds silly but since you have grandsons..what did you do?..I love putting mine up near the windows too..

Rosekitty, one year we put the couch across and blocked off the tree, another time we put the tree up in the play pen and put presents in there too. It kept the kids out of it that way. LOLL

The house I live in don't have living room windows. When you are outside and look at my house from the street you will see two bedroom windows, my front door and the garage door. I put my tree up on a little table that I have against the wall between the living and dining room. This house has a fireplace in the corner in the living room and that to me sure does waste space, I would rather have the wall space instead of the fireplace.

Buy a small set of lights for the windows then at least.
They even have battery operated lights for that and wreaths etc.
man I miss my fireplace from childhood especially around the holidays.

One of my son's friends is a very artistic person and one year he was going around to stores and they would hire him to paint Christmas things on their windows. Before he went out to get the work he did our front windows and the glass on the storm door with such cute Christmas pictures. He lives out of state now. That is a great idea about the battery operated lights for the windows. We put lights around the windows one year and in the tree out front but had to run an extension cord around because there is no plug in the front.

Hey, it has been twenty one minutes and your discussion is still here, shh, I will not tell. The last two years we have just had miniature Norfolk pines, and put them in the t. v. room This year we will go cut a tree and put it in the front room. It still will not be very visible from the front because of the lattice on the porch, but we will enjoy it, and it is in a spot that will be good when the grand baby is here. Going to take the local grandkids to cut the tree this year. They have never gotten to do that. I hope it snows.

Well it turned out to be a one day attack only. So far anyhow.
I loved having a Blue Spruce each year.
Those are the most exspensive trees now days for the Holiday.
Up at the farm there are a bunch int the fields that are big enough to cut and use.
Next year I think I'll get omne from the farm for free.
Well it's a 300 mile round trip but free as far as tree cost goes. HAHAHA!

Hey Grandpa Bob! Another excellent shot! That's a great window
view for the tree! You can see if from the outside with the
outside lights too. You house is going to look so Christmasy
with some nice new snowfall and the tree and the outside lights!
You get the greatest photos of everything! I wish you could
show me how to do it! When I get my camera I might have to
fly out there so you can teach me!

No, No, you cannot cut down my blue spruce. I have one that I got as a seedling. I would need a bucket truck to decorate it now. I am also a night window peeper. You see lots of pretty things that way.

There's a lot of LARGE houses near us. They have those 12 foot vaulkted ceilings. A few have the largest trees that look awesome from the street view. I love walking/driving around checking things like this out. Thanks, I am no expert, just been doing the digital for awhile and learned that was is all.

Oh your picture looks lovely.
I like to see other s tree when I drive past as well. I did try and put the tree in front of the window. But someone moron painted over the outlet. So, it does not work. So, I had top place the tree in the corner. But at least I get to see the pretty view.

We have our tree set right in front of our window, I don't have it on all the time because of our electric bill going up. Next week, we will have it on more often along with the other lights that we have set up. I didn't get to fully decorate the outside, with a sick child for the past 3 weeks. Now, I have a question for you. You get a lot of snow during the winter months. Is it normal to hear thunder while it's snowing? It's snowing here in Tennessee, nothing major to your standards but huge to us, since we hardly get snow. It has been raining most of the day, then it turned to a rain/sleet mix. Well, I heard a crash of thunder and looked outside, it was loud. That's when I discovered everything outside was white, . My kids are happy because 99% chance there won't be school tomorrow because there's sleet under the snow and it's going to be 27 tonight. Well, I never heard thunder when it's snowing and I have been in a few snow storms up in Illinois. So if you could shed any light on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Grandpa Bob, We always put our tree right in front of the window too as I too enjoy looking in at trees. We also love to go driving around at night to see everything all lit up too! Every year we go driving around Christmas Eve after dark as everyone usually has their lights on then! Your tree looks really great, very nice photo=)

I leave early every night to get my wife from her job just to look at the lights on the 15 mile drive. I take a different route each night as well. Thanks also.

That's great that you take a different route so that each time you see something different. When we are out and about after dark and people have their lights on we usually take a different route on the way home too so that we can see all the different lights and decorations people have up!

We always put ours in the window facing the one neighbors home, maybe to block their view into our home or the fact that putting it near the window in front would mean we have to move the computer and the stupid air conditioner my husband has grown to love, and yet doesn't use..(Long story on that one)

The only place that I have to put it is in a corner of the living room, but it can be seen on the outside from two different windows.. I think that it shows up really well.. I also have a smaller one that I decorate and put on the porch, then we decorate the porch and the railings and the gate, it looks when when we get it finished..

Thats usually what I do is put my tree up in front of the window, I like to see other people's trees like that too. I put mine where the window faces the road, you can't really see it too good because the road isn't real close to the house, its across the pasture, but you can see it if your looking. Thats a good picture, its really pretty...

I love the picture of your tree. You did a good job with the picture. I love to drive around and see all the Christmas decorations. Some really out do others.
We put our Christmas tree up in the living room now. I bought the 4 foot one to put in front of a window here in my Den. But three years ago, we bought some new furniture and an entertainment center which is too close to the window by the fireplace where I had put the tree for years before. So we had to move our tree back to the living room in front of the picture window. That's why I want to buy a bigger one like we had before I bought this shorter one. It's fat, but I would love to have a much taller one for the effect in front of the window. Of course, that means buying more decorations and more lights. I put hundreds on this one now!

Thank you very much.
When I was a small child we had a 3 season porch.
Our tree used to be out on that and looked awesome actually.

I like to see christmas trees too when people put them up I think they look so pretty that is definately one of the best things about christmas. No one can see our tree from the window as our living room faces on to the back garden. The only place in the living room I can put the tree is by the tv near the window, but this year we have a table there so I have bought a small tree to go on the table to save messing everything up.

Hi GRANDPA BOB,
Your tree is so beautiful, I can't wait to do mine soon, I will put my tree near the tv and as my front room is at the back it will have to be near my conservatory in the corner of the room.

Great shot GB, yes I like looking through people windows at their Christmas trees. It is one house in this area that I love to look at each year, I find myself riding by that house every year. They have this great big tree and it is sitting in the middle of the living room floor you can tell this from the outside looking in and they have windows on both side of the living room open for viewing.

Getting ready for Christmas? Well I think it would be nice if my family would place a tree at least somewhere in the house, but they won't even bother, because they don't care about any other holidays at all. I am so completely opposite from my family... I don't know why. But well yeah, it's only 24 days until this year's Christmas, and hope you enjoy yours Grandpa Bob. Happy mylotting :)
